*I know I've been gone a while. I'm either working everyday or doing college. But I'm trying to fight the good fight. This little gem was requested by zeezee0-0Anywho, onto the fic!*

"AHHHHHH!" M.k's face met the dirt with jarring force. The ground around him shattered into the form of a Crater from the impact. He groaned in pain and sat up rubbing his neck.

Mei had thrown him a little hard. Especially for training. But he needed to be ready. The Lady bone demon's words rang in his mind and the memory flashed behind his eyes.

Quickly he shook his head to dispel the troubling thoughts. He could do this. He had to do this. M.k got to a stand glancing around his surroundings. Trees walled him in on every side.

"Uhhhh." He looked around unsure what direction he'd come from. With a shrug he summoned his bo staff and lifted it. A beautiful melody drifted on the wind in that moment making him freeze.

Some one was singing. That much was evident. But he couldn't quite make out the words due to the distance. M.k stared after the direction the voice seemed to be resonating from. He'd never heard something so lovely.

His guilt pricked him.

"No M.k focus." He chided turning away. "You have to train. You've got to be ready."

The voice rang out again stealing his attention.

"...maybe...just a look couldn't hurt." M.k reasoned stepping in the voice's direction. "I mean they could be lost or something. What kind of hero doesn't help lost people?" He asked himself walking towards the voice.

The voice was definitely feminine and becoming more distinct each second as he closed the distance. Curiosity had be piqued and M.k simply couldn't resist wondering who could be singing.

"There was a time, I used to look into my father's eyes. In a happy home. I was the king I had a golden throne. But those days are gone, and now the memory's on the wall."

The words filled his ears as M.k neared hanging branches of a weeping burch. With a hand he pressed the wall of leaves aside only for his jaw to fall and red to outline his cheeks.

A girl sat on a rock in the middle of a river. The words slipped from her lips as she gestured her hands in odd ways.

To M.k's great shock, each movement her hands made the water mimicked. She urged the water to create bubbles around fish and carefully guided the bubbles through the air then popped them above a woven basket. The fish fell into the basket one by one.

An interesting fishing technique but clearly effective. M.k leaned a little closer studying her movements closely. Her voice was almost hypnotic with how beautifully it rang out. What the Monkie kid hadn't realized; was his foot, on which he was placing most of his weight, rested on an unstable rock. And each moment he leaned closer, the more unstable it became.

You focused on the rushing waters as the words passed through your lips. The singing helped you concentrate oddly enough. The melody seemed to flow with the water's movement and kept you captivated with the task at hand.

Catching fish was not the best use of your abilities, but it fed your family. And that was enough. Your eyes followed the fish below as you tried to decide which was largest and most worth your energy. Your gaze locked on to a rather large fish and you began guiding the water surrounding it when a startled yell broke your concentration and a large splash scattered the fish.

Your head snapped up at the sudden movement. Your mind shot to the concern of a mother bear or moose but instead a boy sat in the water's depths dripping wet, and looking incredibly guilty.

"Sorry! Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."

Slowly, you carefully slid your body off the rock. The boy's hair was a dark brown and looked messy while it was down. His guilty smile made your stomach do flips and he appeared to be slightly familiar.

"Are you hurt?" You asked tilting your head a bit as you made your way over.

"What? Nah no I'm fine, ouch!" The boy grimaced as he tried to get up only to realize his leg was slight and bleeding rather badly. "Oh."

"Here." You knelt in the water next to him and gingerly placed your hands over the wound. You urged the water to come to your aid. It pulled away from the current and circled your hands before shining a brilliant blue.

You kept your gaze focused on your hands until your were sure the wound had closed.

"There." You smiled. "That should be be-" you glanced up only to freeze as you quickly realized your faces were nearly touching. A heat spread across your cheeks like wild fire and you pulled away. "Oh I'm sorry."

"About what?" The boy laughed. "You just healed me is all. Thank you."

Something about his smile released butterflies in your stomach.

"You should probably get up." You forced yourself to change the subject. "You're getting drenched." You began to get to a stand.

"Huh?" The boy tore his gaze from you looking down at the water. "Oh!" He stood quickly losing his balance and fell forward.

You released a yelp as his body collided against you sending you falling backwards. You braced for the impact of the sharp rocks. But an arm caught you around your upper back.

You instantly realized the boy was holding you against his chest, and keeping both of you above the waters with one arm. Your faces were only a breath apart and his cheeks were twinged pink.

"M.k!" Someone called.

Instantly the boy was on his feet and had pulled you to yours as well.

"Oh shoot it's, Mei!" He gasped panickedly. "She's gonna kill me for ditching practice." He looked around frantically.

"There you are!" Your cousin stepped from the tree line. "I was worried sick- oh hey Y/n!" She waved to you with a pleasant smile.

You returned the gesture as the boy froze.

"Wait....you two know each other?!"

Mei giggled.

"Of course! This is my cousin Y/n. She comes from a long line of water dragons." Mei informed him with a smile.

"Oh. Ohhhhhh!" The boy seemed to understand.

"Well we gotta get back to training, Y/n." Mei informed you. "But I'll bring him back later."

You smiled as the two walked away and collected your basket. You hoped your cousin kept her word. M.k, as she called him, might be nice to get to know properly. Your cheeks heated as you walked and thought back to the moments prior.

Meanwhile

Mei and M.k trudged through the trees back to the training grounds.

"At first I was real worried." Mei explained. "I thought I hit you too hard." She grew an evil smile. "But now I know what took you so long."

M.k tensed and sent her a glare.
