Chapter 9 unexpected news

It been two days since the accident and I'm starting to feel better. I wake up and look at the clock it was ten in the morning "for god sake"I mumble climbing out of bed heading to the bathroom I shower and head to the bedroom dry my hair then grab my clothes and chuck on my black pumps. I put on some make up and head to the kitchen and grab a glass of juice. I look around the kitchen was tidy except for a bowl and cup that was left on the side by the sink, I wash them up and head downstairs mick walks out the cellar
"Why didn't you wake me" I ask him
"Thought you needed your sleep" he said walking past me in to the bar he walks over and unlocks the doors
"What you doing down here, you should be resting"
"What, still, mick I'm not sitting up there on my own anymore. my place is here behind my bar"
Mick walks over and kisses my head "you sure you are ready"
"Yes, I'm better, I need to get back to normal"

I get back to normal and the day was going well, and I was enjoying being back behind my bar.
It was 3 in the afternoon and I was standing behind the bar I walk over and take a punters order when my phone starts ringing
"Mick, my phone, can you take this mans order" I ask him walking to the stairs I look at my phone and not recognise the number
"Hello" I say when I answer it
"Hello, is that Ellie bowman "
"Yes, it's me"
"Hi hello, it's a nurse from Walford general, I'm just ringing up as we have some news on the blood test we took from you"
"Yes, is there a problem"
"Not really no, we run a full blood work and it turns out that your pregnant"
"I'm what!!"
"Pregnant, I see this has come as shock to you, what I will do is if you can ring the hospital in a few days and we can organise for you to come in if you like or you can see you own gp,"
"Yes ok thank you for the call nurse"
"Nurse Parker Claire Parker

i hang up the phone and sit on the stairs feeling like if I don't sit down I would of fell down, I rest my head on the wall and stair shocked "pregnant no way" I say to myself
I get up and grab my bag and jacket and walk out to the bar I grab a glass and pour my self a shot of vodka, I knew I might be pregnant but I needed it for the shock I look around and see mick and Shirley looking at me.

"Going somewhere" mick said walking up to me
"Just popping out I won't be to long"
Mick leans in kissing my lips I pull away and walk off I turn around before heading out the door, I smile at him and he stares and looks at me, he had confusion written all over his face.

I walk to the chemist all the way I'm talking to myself in my head, pregnant I can't be pregnant, me and mick we have been careful, but then I remembered that there was one time that we had got carried away. I walk in the chemist and look around it seeing what I was looking for I grab the box and place it on the till I pay and grab the bag on the counter as I head to the door I walk into kat
"Hi"
"Hi ya" I mutter trying to get past her
"How you feeling, after the accident"
"All good"
"I suppose having a good looking guy like mick helps" kat said with a laugh
"Yeah it must, look kat don't mean to be rude but I must go" I said as I put my recently purchased product which was thankfully discreet in my bag
"No that's fine, just grabbing some wipes for tommy, god knows how many I will need with another"
I look at her and walk off I head back to the pub as I get back I stand outside and look at the place not wanting to go in.
I take a breath and walk in with a smile
"Hear she is the love of my life" mick said seeing me walk in
He was talking to max and Alfie I walk behind the bar and give him a kiss
"I'm just going to take off my jacket then I will be back. I look back seeing max sitting there with a smirk on his face.

I've been behind the bar serving for the last 2 hrs and all I can think about is taking that test. I look around and see Tina and Shirley are behind the bar with mick and nancy was collecting glasses
"Mick I'm just heading upstairs. won't be long" he looks at me and nods "I will be up soon dying for a break" I smile at him and head to the stairs I grab my bag and head up stairs I get in the bathroom and lock the door I get the test and look at it, I take the test and I look in the mirror and stare at myself, a knock on the door brings me out of my staring
"Ellie, babes you okay in there" it was mick
"Yeah I be out in a second" I say as I pick up the test seeing the word.... pregnant ...I stare at it and feel myself sliding down the door
"Oh my god" I say staring at it

After a few minutes I grab my bag and exit the bathroom, I see mick standing there
"Since when have you started going the the bathroom with ya handbag" he mutters as I walk past him
"Since today" I sighed
"Look Ellie, what's up with you"
"Nothing, I'm fine"
"You been off since that phone call"
"Have I oh sorry, I didn't realise" I said trying to cover up what I was feeling
"Don't lie to me Elle, I know there's something up" I walk past him heading to our room I dumping hand bag on the floor and look at him
"The hospital rung that was it just told me the results of my blood test had come back"
"Is everything ok?" He asks
"Yes all good" I say with a smile a fake one at that.
Mick looks at me from under his eyes knowing I'm keeping something from him
"I know you Elle I just wish you would tell me, we don't keep secrets it was only a month ago you was shouting at me for keeping stuff from you"
I look at him wanting to tell him but I was scared would he want another baby
he walks away out of our room to head to go downstairs he looked angry and disappointed with me, I walk to our bedroom door seeing him walking to the stairs .
"I'm pregnant" I yell
