Fifteen

I wake up and I look around and I notice I'm in a hospital room and I then remember what had happened and I see Mick he was asleep in the chair next to me I didn't want to wake him but I just needed to feel his touch so bad right about now.
"Mick. Baby, Mick" I said In a croaky voice "Mick" I said again
He opens his eyes and looks at me "Elle your awake" he said leaning over me
"Yeah," I said croakily again
"You gave me a fright" he said handing me some water helping me take a sip which felt so good sliding down my dry  throat
"How long have I been out?" I ask him
"Just the night" he said leaning over me again looking in my eyes "look Ellie I need to tell you something"
I look at him and I instantly knew it was news on our bump JJ
I nod my head with tears in my eyes
"Look there's no way of saying this but we" Mick puts his head down and looks up at me with tears in his eyes I look at him and I knew he was trying to fight the tears but wasn't succeeding I lift my hand and I wipe the tears from his face
Just then the doctor walks in and Mick stands up and turns and looks at him I knew what Mick was going to say but as he never said it I pushed it to the back of my head
"Miss Bowman your awake" he said with a smile
"Yeah" I said looking at him with his clipboard
"The surgery went well" he said referring to moving the chunk of glass from my tummy "has your husband spoken to you yet?"
I look at him confused for a second and Mick shakes his head
"Okay shall I" the doctor said looking to Mick and Mick nods his head and sits back down and leans on his arms and looks down
"Okay Ellie," the doctor said from the end of the bed "when you fell you landed on the glass and it went through into your stomach just above your abdomen, the stress you body went under and the surgery resulted in you miscarrying I'm sorry"
I just stared at the doctor I heard what he said I zoned out for a second and then I looked at Mick who looked up at me tears falling down his face
"Ellie sweetheart" Mick said tilting his head to the side
"Miss bowman do you understand" the doctor said again
I nodded at him with tears in my eyes and he nods his head "okay I will check in on you soon" and with that he went
"Elle" Mick's said standing up and I just stare ahead "Elle baby" Mick said touching my hand
"Leave me alone" I said pulling my hand away from him
"Elle come on"
"Leave!" I yell at him he nods his head and walks out and I lay there and scream and cry, I felt like my heart had been pulled out my chest and had crumbled into a thousand pieces.
