Hey guys! I'm back again with part 2 of a previous chapter of this one shot book! It's called stitches so I recommend you read that before this one! I got a few requests for a part 2 so this is it! I hope you like it xxx
Bradley pondered LB's words for several hours. What could possibly change? The thing that confused him the most was the idea of 'someone in her place". Her place? What could she mean?
He was sitting in the guest room of Greenwood House, ranting about his confusions to Ruby Redfort when she groaned, as if in agony.
"I can't take this anymore," she sighed. With the amount of fuss she was making, most would assume she had been stabbed in the shoulder blades by one crazed super villain or another.
"What?" Asked Bradley, rolling his eyes at her dramatics.
"You!" Groaned Ruby. "This! You fussing over LB!"
Bradley looked at her in confusion.
"Ugh," she sighed. "Are you the smart guy I've been told about or not?"
Bradley shrugged.
"I don't know how you can be when you're so oblivious," added Ruby.
"Oblivious to what?" Asked Bradley, trying to sound less oblivious but failing.
"The fact that you love her man," sighed Ruby. "And she loves you! Honestly, you're such a bozo!"
Bradley's eyes widened as his brain spiralled back into the past.
Flashback
There she stood, in front of him, the love of his life. She smiled, her cherry stained lips curling into a perfect smile that he had adored since he first saw it. Her brown eyes glowed in the fading light of the evening and her skin seemed to be alight with every fire of the sun. His Byrdie. How had he ever gotten so lucky?
End of flashback.
Bradley's eyes flew to Ruby, who had her eyebrows raised sarcastically. It was as if she was about to say see, I told you so.
"Where is she?" Asked the man, frantically standing.
"HQ," said Ruby. "And no, before you ask, you cannot go there!"
Bradley rolled his eyes.
"We'll get her to come here then!"
"Man, not to burst your bubble," groaned Ruby. "But I think she has more important things to deal with than some sappy romantic speech from you."
They heard a chuckle from the kitchen doorway. Hitch.
"Bradley? Romantic?" He scoffed. "Not two words I would've put together."
"Oh shush you," scowled Bradley.
"Come on Brad, you know I love you," grinned Hitch. "But just give yourself a minute to calm down. Do you really want this moment to be rushed and," he paused, looking Bradley up and down. "Well, flappy?"
Bradley crossed his arms, mostly to prevent the flapping but also to express his grumpiness. How this dude was 48 was unclear!
"Fine," he groaned. "I just don't want to mess this up!"
"Dude," said Hitch, plopping himself down on the couch beside Bradley, rolling his eyes heavenwards. "She quite literally shot you from the sky, I think she can handle a rambled speech from a Labrador of a man."
"I am not a Labrador!" Protested Bradley.
"Yes you are," said Hitch, patting Bradley's head much to his friend's annoyance.
"You do kinda look like one," chimed in Ruby.
"Whose side are you one?" Exclaimed Bradley, his mouth hanging open comically.
"Well, considering he saved me from a forest fire, a sea monster and various psychopaths, I'm gonna have to say Hitch."
Hitch grinned, triumphantly.
"I hate you both so much!"
I hope you liked this! I can always make a part 3 if you want me to. This has been a heavy week for me (GCSES are a pain!!) so I wanted to write something lighthearted and I hope you liked it! Hope you all are feeling ok :))
