So this is basically just focusing on the friendship between these two. I hope you enjoy and stay safe xx
Hitch's pov:
Where was that kid? Honestly, I spend half my time running around after her these days. Look after Ruby Redfort, they said. It'll be fun, they said. Fun? More like hard work. Damn you Nine Lives. If you hadn't shot me, I wouldn't be on baby sitting duty with the craziest kid in Twinford. I wouldn't change her though. It's that wild spirit and broad imagination that's solved most of these cases. I do wish she wasn't always running off. LB's always saying that I have to keep her in sight at all times. You try it then Byrdie if it's so simple! That woman does not even know the half of how difficult Ruby bloody Redfort can be sometimes. I wake up in the morning. 'Hey Hitch, just so you know, I blew up a building.' I eat lunch. 'Hey Hitch, I murdered someone.' I got to sleep (not really but oh well. PTSD is a bitch). 'Hey Hitch, I got kidnapped again.' She's almost as much work as Bradley, and trust me, he's a nightmare most of the time. Or rather was, I miss you buddy. But anyway, I'm getting off topic. Today, she's vanished off the map to who knows where and I'm being lectured tremendously by LB. I hate you kid. Well, I don't hate you. Actually, I care about you a lot more than you'll ever know but right now I hate you. I swear if you die on me, I'm gonna kill you.
LB's pov:
Honestly, why is he always letting her get away? I love Hitch and he's an amazing agent but when it comes to the kid he's clueless. She's a complete idiot sometimes. I mean, who in their right mind goes looking for danger just to have fun? Other than Bradley. But that doesn't count, he was Bradley Baker. The invincible man who now seemed not so invincible. Although, Ruby is no replica of the Wonder Boy. My Wonder Boy. No, she's more like someone else I know. Sarcastically charming and troubled. Yes, she reminds me of Hitch. Not the Hitch sat before me now, but the Hitch I used to know long before our lives became nothing but reminders of what we had lost.
Ruby's pov:
I was hiding out at Clancy's. I knew that Hitch would be looking for me but I also knew that if he found out what I had done, I would be hanging from a noose in my kitchen. Sometimes I wish I could stay away from the danger. I swear, I try to. I don't love trouble, trouble loves me. Jeez Rube, why did you have to let off a stink bomb in the middle of Chemistry? But it seemed so funny at the time. I knew Hitch wouldn't see it that way and neither would my parents. I mean, living in a bunker didn't sound too bad. I could hid down there until I was thirty and then come out. Hitch would've forgotten all about me by then and I wouldn't be in any danger. I mean, the man had a gun for crying out loud. Oh god, he's gonna kill me.
Let me know if you want a part 2 xx
