In this chapter, I kinda wanted to focus on Hitch having a rather strange and hard childhood. For whatever reason you chose, whether it be his dad or his friends or etc, Hitch is getting into a lot of trouble (in my mind anyway but it's my story so I do what I want *insert evil villain laugh here*). Enjoy.

IN DETROIT, MICHIGAN:

A boy. That's all he was to the average person's eye. But a legend of history is what he would become. Fifteen year old Art Zachary, or Hitch as he insisted on being called, was lounging around in the spring heat when he got a crazy idea. Luckily for him, impossible was not a word in his vocabulary. He excused himself from the conversation he was having with his family and ran towards the surrounding trees. He waited until he knew no one was watching and then swung himself up until he was hidden by the branches of a large oak. Hidden in between the masses of branches and leaves lay his treehouse or nerd cave as he called it. He typed in the code and the door slid open. He had learned a lot about mechanics from books and that had resulted in a short term job working in the gadgets department of MI6 a few summers ago. He smiled at all of his elaborate computers and screens as he slid across the floor of a wheely chair. He was very much into hacking different companies although he had never taken on anything this big. Spectrum 8. His dad had told him of the 'colourful folk' who worked there and Hitch couldn't help but be curious. Being fifteen, he was almost invisible to the world and he liked it that way. So he began his attempt at hacking their computer system. To his surprise, it was quite easy although that was probably because hardly anyone knew they existed. He smiled as hundreds and thousands of files and commands appeared on his multiple screens and he decided to have a little fun. He smiled and got to work, smirking.

TWINFORD, CALIFORNIA:

Bradley Baker and Loveday Byrd were very anxious. What on earth was going on? The lights kept flashing and the computers kept turning on and off. Then the announcement happened.
"Attention all agents," came the steady voice of Agent Ward. "Our security and computer systems have been hacked. All agents leave your posts and make your way to the viewing room,"
Bradley took LB's hand, without really thinking, and pulled her along the halls with him. The two were not a couple. In fact they were barely friends but all Bradley knew was that he really liked her... and the systems were most likely in the hands of a psychopath.

After a few minutes, every single Spectrum 8 agent was seated and they were all very scared. Who had hacked them? The Count? It seemed most likely. Ward was just about to address them all when a message appeared on the screen.
'It seems you need better security'
Bradley shuddered. That was a very Count-like statement. Then another message.
'Quit shuddering Baker'
Bradley's eyes widened. He could see them. Then more words appeared on the screen.
'I know what you're all thinking, but you're wrong. I'm not done psycho who's gonna kill ya :)'
That last one made LB raise her eyebrow. The tone of the message was almost childlike. But who could it be. Then Grayson spoke.
"Well," he said shakily. "If you can see us then you can hear us probably. Am I right?"
'Yes' flashed up in the screen.
"Who are you?" Asked Sam Colt, standing up.
Suddenly the screen showed an image, no, it was a person talking to them. A boy.
"Hey," he said, waving.
The entire room fell silent at the sight of that face. If it weren't for the eyes, they would have all concluded that it was someone just as terrible as The Count. But no, this wasn't Aidan; his eyes were brown. These eyes were an amazing shade of faded turquoise with a splash of yellow in the middle. Then Bradley caught on. He had seen those eyes before.
"Hitch?" He said slowly and in disbelief.
The boy nodded and laughed.
Then the others saw it too. This was not Aidan. This was his son. Ward sighed and smiled.
"You really had me there Zachary," he said. "Now be a good kid and give us our systems back,"
The kid smiled but shook his head.
"What do you mean man?" Asked Grayson.
"Well, I'm just starting to have fun," said Hitch grinning villainously. Sam Colt rolled his eyes and smiled. He had seen this before in the kid's dad.
"Then when will you give it back?" Asked LB.
"I don't know," said Hitch, shrugging his shoulders. "What's in it for me?" and he smiled again.
Ward grinned.
"You're quite the little genius aren't ya?"
"I don't like to brag about it," said Hitch casually, as if he hadn't just hacked one of the most secret, secret agencies on the planet.
"Well, we've got a duo of our youngest agents that could always be turned into a three," said Ward.
Hitch grinned and the screen went blank just for a second before another message appeared.
'It's not like I've got anything else to do. You'll find me in Downtown Detroit. In the meantime, here's your system back :)'
As the message disappeared, the lights came back on and everything went back to normal. Ward smiled and turned to Bradley.
"You ready for another partner?"
"Well, it turned out alright with the first one,"
And as he said that, he turned to LB and smiled. It was the first time he had properly smiled at her since she had started working with him. She smiled back and turned to leave, laughing to herself. That was some kid.

DETROIT;

Hitch smiled as he made his way out of his nerd cave and back down the tree. This is gonna be one big adventure, he whispered to himself. And it was. An adventure that would last him until the day he died.
