Prolog

Smiling with a bit of a giggle I looked behind me and saw my cousins Liam, James, Via, and Milly. Liam was only 6 months younger than me but was six foot. We also looked quite alike, so some people think we're brother and sister. His brother James, however, was almost my height, which was "5 '5, and was only 15, had bright orange red hair, and had quite a temper. He also has glasses and thinks he's smarter now because of them. Sometimes both of us team up on Liam to play around for fun though. Via was 5 years and one day younger than me and is 15 like James. Like her sister Milly, who's only 12, they both had blonde hair that's getting darker as they get older. Then there's me, Abbylee, I'm 20 and I wear glasses and have long brown hair. I consider myself the leader of this generation of the family and we all know it.

"Come on guys hurry up!" I yelled as I raced through the woods on my bike.

Going up a log I jumped over the creek and landed on the fallen leaves from the trees. Being in the lead I laughed as some leaves started to fall around us. I could hear the others behind me catching up.

From the corner of my eye I saw a large oak tree with a door. Without thinking I turned my bike towards it and went closer for a better look. Skidding to a halt I heard the others catch up behind me, and put their bike by mine.

"What is this?" Milly asked.

"No idea." I said, pushing up my glasses.

"I think we just found the leprechauns home." Liam said, referring to his brother.

"Quit calling me a leprechaun!" James nearly screamed and threw leaves at his brother.

Rolling my eyes at the males I touched my hand to the trunk and immediately I saw a purple glowing circle with a bunch of lines in the middle. Surprised and scared I backed up and fell on my but. Via and Milly came over and helped me up. Sharing a wary glance with them I put out my pointer finger and it appeared again.

"Whoa! What the?" They said in shock.

"What's going-," Liam started but it became something else when he saw what it was. "What the frick is that?!"

"It appears when I touch the tree." I said removing my finger.

Liam touched his hand on the tree and what appeared was something different. In glowing bronze there was an upside down triangle with a horizontal line through the tip. James touched the tree and a red glowing triangle appeared. When Via did it a silver triangle with a line threw the top. And when Milly touched the tree a blue upside down triangle appeared.

Something about these symbols seems familiar to me. Something clicked in my brain and I pulled away as my cousin kept staring at their hands and the tree in awe. Walking a couple of feet to the door I saw a star on it and at each point was a circle. That's it.

"Guys come here." I said.They all walked over and I turned to them. "I think if we put our hands on these circles this door will open. Only question is if we want an adventure."

"You know I'll always want an adventure." Liam smiled walking over to me.

"I guess I have to come to keep you safe." James pushed up his own glasses and joined us.

"ADVENTURE!" Milly jumped to our side.

"I guess I can come." Via said rubbing her shoulder. "But we have to be home in three hours for dinner."

"We can make it." I adjusted my glasses, turning to the door.

Will took the spot up top since he was the tallest and I took his left shoulder. James took his right and Via was below him as Milly went below me. We all shared a look and all placed our palms on the door. Just like I thought it opened up and what was on the other side surprised us all.
