Proving Himself

After a long discussion with my cousins I finally convinced them to have this mission be just me and Jason. Exiting the barn I walked over to the pens where I saw Jason looking at all the animals. Walking up he turned and saw me and smirked.

"Ah you're the one coming with me kitty?" He asked.

"Ok one, my names actually Abby," I said, smirking back, "and two, everyone else is not comfortable going on a mission with you yet."

Going over to Crystal's pen I opened the gate and grabbed her saddle and put it on her. Getting on her back I reached out my arm towards Jason and he looked kind of scared.

"There's no need to be scared of her." I smiled.

He took my arm and I helped him on Crystal's back. She looked back warrily and I petted her head and calmed her down. She let out a soft growl and we took off. Jason almost fell but he quickly grabbed my waist and I smirked looking back a bit. He gave us directions and after about a thirty minute flight we came to a volcanic area.

We looked around for a minute and we soon found the camp. There was indeed a new subspecies of Wolfron and there were two of them. We landed and dismounted and I saw Jason swish his tail around.

Going out I took my sword and used the handle to knock out the first one. Jason however just jumped in and started attacking. As he took care of the poachers I went over to the pens. Smiling, I opened them and I was thanked by some licks. Having the new members Crystal came over and I got on her back. Jason soon joined and I looked around and saw a bloody scene, this can be a warning to them all.

We took off and the 2 new ones followed. They had small wings on their back that connected to their body but could still fly. How they did, no idea. They also had red webbing between their antlers instead of the purple on Crystal. Other than those differences they were the same.

Feeling Jason's tight grip on my waist I looked back and saw him crying. Slightly worried I guided Crystal down to land on a hill as the sun started to set.

"Hey are you ok?" I asked as we both dismounted.

"No I'm fulu not!" He said punching a tree and breaking it.

Scared a bit I looked back at the Wolfrons and they all laid down. I walked over to him and he fell to his knees, I set my hand on his shoulder and he reached one of his paws up and took it.

"That monster killed my family and basically cubed napped me." Jason said as I saw tears fall from his face. "I will make him pay for what he did."

He stood up and I took my hand off his shoulder. I wanted to help him but I have no idea how. Looking back I saw the sun start to set. This is the first time I have seen it actually go down, you can't really see at the base. Feeling an arm around my waist I looked to my side and saw Jason. I do want to try and have a relationship with him, and I'll help him in any way I can.

Looking back at the sky I saw it start to change colors from purple, to white, to light blue, to brown, to red. It was an amazing spectacle and my breath was caught in my throat. I didn't notice Jason looking at me until he turned my head to face him. Seeing his eyes I saw he was calm and was smiling at me.

He put a paw on my face and brought our faces together and brought me into a kiss. Surprised and shocked I didn't kiss back right away. After a minute of realizing what's happening I kissed back and wrapped my arms around his neck. Parting I let out a small breath and smiled.

"I'm sorry for my outburst." He said, "And tried to kill you when I first met you. I would like to start courting you to be my mate, that is if you help me destroy the leader of Claw."

"I'm ok with that." I smiled. "And when we do that will be a win-win, you get your revenge and there will be one less group hunting and killing animals."

We continued staying at this spot just sitting and watching the sunset. When it was finally gone I looked up in the sky and saw the same symbols that appeared on the tree when my cousins and I found it, and it's the same ones that we draw on the earth.

Getting up we got back on Crystal and led the other 2 new Wolfrons back to the base. Getting Crystal near the pens I led her to hers and put her in. After I looked over to Jason and saw he put the other 2 in a pen they shared. Smiling, I walked over to the Care house and let Liam and Nadel know about the new arrivals. Leaving the care house I made my way to my tree house.

As I was walking up I felt a hand on my wrist and looked behind me and saw Jason.

"No one really told me where I would sleep here." He said awkwardly.

Smiling, I told him to wait and I ran up to my tree house and grabbed some extra blankets and pillows and came back down. Taking Jason's hand I showed him the other tree houses that were behind mine and my cousins. He picked one out and I brought up the pillows and blankets for him and gave them to him.

"These look really nice." He said putting them on a bed.

"Thank you," I said, smiling and adjusting my glasses. "I made them by hand myself."

"What's the process called?"

"It's called crocheting, you basically make different kinds of knots with rope-like material and a hook."

"Sounds interesting, I would like to watch you do it sometime kitty."

I looked at his smirking face and smiled and blushed. Turning around I started to lightly dust some surfaces.

"Probably won't be anytime soon, I left all the material for it back in my world." I shrugged my shoulders. "I'll let you get settled in, it's late and I need to get to bed."

Giving Jason one last smile I walked down the stairs and walked for a minute thinking. I would like to try being with Jason, but he is a completely different species, not to mention my cousin's and I want to try and save this world. Do I have time for a relationship? I mean I already told him yes when he asked earlier. I'll just wait and see what this mating process actually means.

Making it back to my tree house I walked up and went to bed. I tried to get a good amount of sleep but it was hard with certain kinds of dreams with Jason popping up. Waking up with a groan I grabbed my glasses that were on a side table and put them on my face.

Walking down I let Crystal out of her pen and she followed me to the barn with the kitchen and living area. Only Liam, Hondu, and Nadel were in here and I saw pancakes with chocolate from the chocolate trees. Grabbing some I sat down and started to eat.

"Hondu?" I asked.

"Yes Abby?" He said, smiling at me.

"Just out of curiosity, what are the traditional things for courting here?" I asked.

Liam gave me a shocked look, Nadel almost choked on her food but Liam helped her, and Hondu just stared at me in shock.

"W-well usually each creature will bring presents for the other of things they would like or have interest in." Hondu said. "Then they would also go to some of our world's best sights for outings to confess feelings of admiration, then they become mates for life."

"Have two creatures of completely different species become mates?" I felt embarrassed but I wanted to know if trying with Jason would even be possible.

"Half of the time yes, the other half no." Nadel said.

I nodded understanding and finished my food. When I did I cleaned my dish and exited the barn. As I did I saw a whole bunch of fluffy animals. They weren't all the same kind but they all were so cute. In the middle of them all I saw Jason looking a bit overwhelmed. Soon I heard the others come and join me looking out. As they did Jason looked up and over to us and smiled at me.

"My first mate gift for you Abby." He said looking proud.
