Running down the slope towards Crystal and Blueberry I started to fear the worse. Did one of the poacher groups find this place? Are some already in here hunting the animals I already rescued? Yelling from pain I was brought out of my thoughts as I fell face first on the forest floor. Looking at my foot I saw it was kinda twisted and it was kinda throbbing. Hearing footsteps come back I looked up and saw Jason run back to me.
"Abby my mate are you ok?" He ran his tail lightly over my foot and ankle, I slightly winced at just that, great.
"Yeah I'm fine, I think I just twisted my ankle." I said through gritted teeth and Jason looked at me confused. "I'll explain what that is after we find our Wolfrons and make sure they're safe."
He nodded and picked me up bridal style out of nowhere and continued to run to where we heard Crystal and Blueberry. Soon we came to a clearing and I only saw Crystal here. Oh no. There was also this huge ten foot plant where some petals looked like hearts and it was colored like all the different pride flags from back home. Crystal saw we came and she bounded over to us and licked my face. She then noticed my foot and lightly sniffed it.
Jason put me down and I tried to take a step but I almost fell, Crystal caught me and I leaned against her. The huge flower started to glow and it started to get brighter and brighter until it was hard to see. Holding my hand up I could barely make out the petals folding out. The light dyed down and Blueberry stepped out of the plant. Confused, they came closer to us and I realized, they're a different gender?!
"My Ancestors." Jason let out, "You have the Chranga plant."
"The what?" I looked at Jason as he walked forward.
"The Chranga plant is a plant that both creatures and animals use." Jason explained turning to me. "Either can enter the plant and it will reveal to you what you really are or want to be. I guess in Blueberry's case she wanted to be a he."
As if wanting to prove Jason wrong, Blueberry let out a small high pitch yip and blue wind flew over there body and they changed from male to female, they did it again and went from female to male. What the Fulu?!
"Ok I stand corrected, they wanted to have the freedom of changing between both." Jason petted Blueberry's head smiling at them.
"Can the plant only change the genders?" I was very curious.
"Oh that's not all." Jason smiled. "I'm just going off the few books I was allowed to read and old stories that were passed down but, apparently when some of the first humans came they used these plants and they would come out looking like me or Nadel, or would only have certain parts like ear, wings, or tails like Hondu. Some of the Creatures back then actually hated the humans that turned to creatures so much they got rid of all Chranga. I honestly thought they were all whipped out."
All I could do was look at this plant in awe. This world is truly broken from what my new friends, and mate, are telling me and my family. I want to help more than anything, I know I'm falling in love with this land and animals, and I'm pretty sure Jason, but part of helping is not having my cousins by my side.
"We should get back." I said and Jason looked up from Blueberry to me. "My family might be leaving soon and I want to be able to say goodbye to them."
Jason nodded and got on Blueberry's back and I got on Crystals. Taking off we only had to fly for less than a minute but I couldn't walk so this will most likely be my main source for transportation. As the clearing of the camp came into view I saw Liam saddling up Mustang. Landing next to them I saw Nadel was also packing, this turned from not so sad to more interesting.
