Up and Running Care

Yawning I left my tree house and looked over the center my family and I had moved into. A week has passed since we saved the nearby Village, we now learned it was called the Spirit Village, and the natives were very happy and have started to give us resources to help out.

Going down the stairs Crystal was laying in the sun at the bottom. As I approached she got up and licked my face, making me laugh and smile in the process. Petting her head I walked over to the pens where we still had some animals healing. I went into the pen with the four baby animals Crystal and I rescued. When I went in they all came towards me and I bent down and started to pet them. They were all getting quite big, they were already up to my waist.

"You guys are ready to go into one of those large enclosures now that you're bigger." I said kissing one of their heads.

Standing up I quickly exited the pen to see if I had everything they needed to be moved. As I looked over their clipboard to be sure they were all ok, I saw Hondu come over. Setting down the clipboard I turned to him as he walked right up to me and the pen.

"Everything alright Hondu?" I asked.

"Everythings fine." He smiled back. "I knew these guys would be moved today so I came over to do it, but it looks like you beat me to it. I'll help you."

I opened the pen's door and the four animals walked out. Hondu and I walked on either side as Crystal brought up the rear so none would escape. Like all the other animals we've met I knew what these guys were called, Bearlof, and I knew a lot of the info off the top of my head. I don't know why this happens when I see them but it's not entirely bad though. It makes making the new animal book easier for sure.

As we walked through the endless area of pens we finally reached a gate for the wild enclosures. Opening it they went in and one of them turned back and gave a last look before joining his siblings. I smiled as I saw them go, but also felt kind of empty inside. Is this what it will feel like when we release all the animals back in the wild? It kind of feels like I lost a child. As if she knew what I was feeling Crystal came over and from behind and rested her head on my shoulder. Smiling, I petted her head and kissed her nose.

"We might need to fly back if we want to beat James to the Heart Throb pancakes." Hondu said, "You mind?"

"Not at all." I said smiling.

Crystal kneeled down and both of us got on her back. Flying up we started on our way back until I heard a familiar growl. Crystal turned to our right and we saw a campfire a bit away, and the sound came from it. She took over the flying and we went towards it. Making us land near the clearing Hondu and I peared in and saw a blue male. He didn't look injured but kept growling and barking at the Quillats around them.

"Guess we're gonna be late for breakfast." I said.

We charged in screaming and I jumped on one and pinned him down as Hondu ducked and weaved around the other. He finally landed a hit on him and he held his nose as it bled.

"Give us the keys and leave!" Hondu demanded.

"No way!" Said the one Hondu punched.

"Do it dude!" said the one I was pinning down. "They're the Protectors, I was at that battle. We don't want to mess with them."

I got off the one I was pinning and the other tossed his keys at Hondu. They quickly grabbed their small packs and ran off. When they did Hondu turned to me and handed me the keys but I moved his hand closer to him.

"Something tells me you should be the one to rescue him." I told him.

He turned to the cage and opened it and the Wolfron was looking at him intently. It took a few steps out and came face to face with Hondu. I was scared my friend was gonna get hurt but I stayed where I was. The Wolfron kept looking at Hondu and sniffed his shoulders a bit. Its eyes softened and he started to nuzzle his head against Hondu's. My fear went away and Crystal went over to the new Wolfron and they started to nuzzle heads together, maybe they were old friends or siblings.

Crystal came back over to me and she let me get on her back. I helped Hondu up and we took off with our new friend following. Flying up we went back to our base and landed in between where the pens were and where our new main hang out is. Dismounting Crystal Hondu walked the new Wolfron over to a pen and put him in.

As Hondu and I walked over to the main building we fixed up, Crystal stayed behind with the other Wolfron. We entered the building and I saw everyone was sitting down and had started to eat. Hondu and I sat down and joined them and told them about our morning rescue.

Finally with everyone fed we all split up to do our daily things. Nadel and Jabnelsa went to check our medic supplies, Via and Milly went to feed and give water to all animals, and Liam and James left on their Wolfrons to follow a lead on the main Quillat base. Hondu and I went back out and he went over to his new friend. I however wanted to take a walk in the woods. Going up to my tree house I grabbed my bag and put some jars in there in case I found any more berries, fruit, or veggies. Leaving and closing the door I left the area smiling. Maybe while I was out here I can practice healing the land a bit.
