I can't control my tears. Soul is getting married to- Tsubaki? (YAS IK YOU GUYS ARE LIKE WTF IT'LL BE EXPLAINED) Next thing I know, my door bursts open, and I'm being handed popcorn, water, and ice cream. Liz plops down next to me. "I'm not going to ask if you're okay, because that would be stupid. You're not okay. Rage to me, girl." After my rant and more tears, my whimpers subside, and I hiccup randomly. She puts her arms around me in a comforting embrace. "Come on. Even though he's getting married, you can do little things to fight for him. If he's happy, you can't change that. But you can help his happiness, and be his best friend at his wedding. Feelings aside, you need to be there for him." She's right, I need to be strong for Soul. He is my best friends after all. I push my feelings into the deepest part of my building, and start when the phone rings. I pick it up. "Hello?"
"Maka?" I gape in shock, then recover just in time. 'It's Soul,' I mouth to Liz. "Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to come stay with us in the mansion a week early. Can you come? I'd like some support." My mouth drops open, and I manage to respond, "Uhm, sure," while doing my best to keep the tears out of my voice."I SHOULDN'T HAVE AGREED TO THAT, I SHOULDN'T HAVE AGREED TO THAT!" I shout, tossing a shoe at my dresser. Now it's going to be even more painful. "We're going to make him fall for you. Hard."

I board the plane alone, sad to leave Liz. At least she knew what I was feeling. Well, I'll see her at the wedding, so that's a relief. I just had to keep my feelings bottled up the next couple of days, and then... start a new life on a new level of pain. I lean my head against the seat and my eyes began to close. Before I can fall asleep, my phone vibrated in my pocket. Soul had texted me! I grab my phone and read it. 'Someone's coming to get you from the airport,' it says. I decide not to respond as I turn my phone back off and return to sleeping.
The plane hits a bump, and I am launched halfway out of my seat, efficiently jarring me awake. We land; I proceed to grab my bag and exit, holding back, holding back sobs. I just can't take it. He was my best friend- and now he's getting married. I guess that you never realize what you have until it leaves you.
After a few minutes of searching, I plop down on a bench with a sigh, taking out my book. I'm too stressed to read, however, and instead just blankly stare at the swirling, nonsensical letters. All of a sudden, someone plops down next to me, and I barely register their presence. I look up, and I believe I'm hallucinating. Because he looks like a fucking angel. A demonic angel at that. With his spiky white hair, his crimson eyes, and his shark teeth, Soul makes for a beautiful heavenly being. "Hey, bookworm." I feel the urge to smack him with my book. "After all this time, you come back, and you say hey and insult me? I feel so special." He laughs, a low-pitched, deep throated sound that I love. "Well, do you expect a party?" I wrap my arms around him. "You don't know how much I've missed your humor. And you're so tall!" I pull away, wiping a fake tear. "You're growing up!" "That's what happens when you become a death scythe- you get even cooler than you were before." He grins, and I poke his shoulder. "Who said you were cool in the first place?" Soul pouts, and his face looks like I just kicked a puppy. I relented, "Okay, fine, maybe you were cool." He smiles again, showing the shark teeth. "Come on, we've gotta get back. Tsubaki will kill me if I'm late." At the mention of Tsubaki, my mood turns sour again, and I stalk after Soul, steaming.
