School started back up quicker than I would have liked. Although we did get our grades from the first term which my mum would be thrilled about now was the problem with the new sports teacher. I wasn't a fan of sports class since most of it required heavy amounts of cardio and although I can use my inhaler before we start preventing an attack completely is not on the table.
"Hi, Mr Vander I just wanted to let you know I can't do large amounts of Cardio because of my Asthma." He turned stalking up to me looking me up and down for a moment.
"I read your medical records. You need a new one every term so I know you're not lying." I frowned at him confused.
"Asthma doesn't go away that quick sir. If you talk to the nurse." He blew his whistle and everyone stopped their laps around the gym.
"No Cardio you say, then how about twenty push-ups. If you can even do that." Jason and the other jocks laughed, Eddie wasn't here for Sport like normal. He didn't need to be here to pass. "Get to it Lipton or I'll give you detention right now." Dropping to the floor I was quick to get up to twenty which didn't suit the humiliation the fucking bully of a sports teacher wanted.
"Just because I have Asthma doesn't mean I'm not fit. I just can't run 50 laps around the gym like a mindless dog." Glancing at Jason he clenched his fist at me.
"Get a new medical certificate before I see your face again. Out." Walking out of the Gym I kicked a bin. Fucking prick. Did he want me to have an asthma attack in the middle of class?
Wanting to head out of the school for lunch like normal Eddie grabbed my shoulders trying to walk me into the cafeteria.
"Ed you know I hate the sweaty teens in there." He chuckled still walking me into the room.
"Yeah well this teen is hungry and it's fucking cold outside." It's been cold this whole time and now he complains. People ignored us and so Eddie sat me down at his table. Right next to Dustin. "Meet the gang." The three boys sitting opposite me glared.
"Is it cold in here or is it just me?" I said while handing Eddie his half of my lunch. He nudged the first dude and gestured to me.
"You're corrupting our leader." He whispered at me getting smacked on the head by Eddie.
"Show some respect, please. She got Jason covered in milk remember." They rolled their eyes.
"Yeah and got you to stop going to band for a whole week." I clicked my tongue at Eddie who crossed his arms.
"It was Christmas," Dustin said and they all turned to him. "Right keeping my mouth shut." His hands raised in defence.
"The only thing that's corrupted here is that half-ass mac and cheese you've got there. Never thought the bullied would become the bullies. Cya later shit birds." Standing up I walked out of the Cafeteria into the almost empty hallway. The cafeteria doors opened right after. "Not now." I breathed when seeing the jocks from the gym come walking out.
"So the little emo girl has Asthma." Jason chuckled and I just stared at him confused.
"Yeah, and what's it to you? Wanna pick on a person for medical conditions now? Low blow even for you Jason." He tried snatching my bag but I tugged it behind me. What happened over break to make him more of a asshat? He tried a few more times to grab the bag but I moved out of the way until I thought of something. It's gonna hurt but worth it if he gets caught. "What's made you be such a prick? Well more than usual, not using your steroids this term?" Jason growled and as I saw coming kicked me right in the stomach. It didn't hurt so bad since I braced for it but I fell backwards sliding right into the cafeteria.
The doors flung back and everyone saw Jason standing over me, as did a teacher that was scolding a student for something.
"Jason, what are you doing?" The teacher yelled and I smirked up at him although the teacher couldn't see he came stomping over about to throw a punch. When Eddie came over pushing Jason from me.
"What the hell?!" Eddie shouted turning back to me and knelt down next to me. "Are you alright?" He whispered leaning into me and picking me off the floor.
"Munson take her to the nurse. I'll take Jason to the principal." Eddie nodded not saying a word in the now quiet cafeteria.
"What a dick." He grumbled and I laughed lightly "what?"
"I let him kick me." Breathing this out Eddie stopped walking although the nurse was just around the corner.
"And why would you do that?"
"To get him kicked off the basketball team." Giggling Eddie smirked, still looking worried as he started walking again.
" reckless as always." He kicked open the nurse's door and she jumped in her seat. "Jason kicked her in the stomach, she hit the ground pretty hard."
"Settle her down on the bed." She jumped up and Eddie listened quickly setting me down and then stood beside me. "She'll need to take off her shirt so if you could." Eddie rubbed the back of his neck nodding. "Don't worry lover boy I'll let you know when to come back in." She helped me remove the shirt and hoodie I wore and there wasn't much to see yet other than a red mark.
"I managed to tense my stomach before the hit." She nodded pressing her hand down, I hissed lightly and she hummed.
"It doesn't look severe, you'll get bruising around the area. I'll bandage you up." A few wraps around my stomach later my hoodie was put back on and the door to the office opened for Eddie to stride back over to me.
"She'll need the rest of the day off to rest, hydrate and eat. Do you have a contact for me to call?" She asked Eddie and he glanced between me and her."She's living alone while her mum is travelling. I could take her home." She sighed looking down at her papers for a moment.
"Alright since she has no family here. I'll send a message to your classes." Sitting up Eddie jolted holding onto my shoulders.
"I can walk Eddie." I breathed and he didn't listen making me hold onto him while walking.
"You can have tomorrow off also, the pain will settle in then and I suppose after that the principal will want to speak to you."
"Thanks," Eddie said before walking us out into the halls.
"Oh thank God," Dustin said scaring me a little since I couldn't see him over Eddie's shoulders.
"What are you guys doing here?" Eddie asked and I saw someone else with Dustin.
"I wanted to check on her and Mike I don't know."
"You alright?" This kid Mike said and I shrugged.
"Sure Dustin's friend who I don't know." People were starting to gather in the halls, so Eddie took me away back to the car.
