Adira and Eddie had sat silently in the car for about five minutes before Chrissy quickly ran to the passenger side and tapped on the window quickly, turning her head around a few times to make sure that nobody was following her.
Adira pushed open the door and then moved over closer to Eddie so that Chrissy could slide into the van and sit next to the window. "I didn't know that you were coming too," Chrissy said and gave her friend a small smile as Eddie turned on the car and began his drive home towards the trailer park
"I'm going to Maxine's house, Eddie just offered to drive me since he lives right across from her," Adira told her friend with a small smile and linked their arms together, scooting over to her in attempt to gather some of her body warmth
"Jesus Ads, your freezing!" Chrissy exclaimed as she used everything in her power to refrain from pulling herself out of Adiras grip as he cool fingers Sam in contact with her skin
"Tell me about it," Adira muttered out and let out a content sigh as she finally began to warm up. Eddie had turned the heater on and wound the windows all the way up
"Where is your jacket?" Chrissy practically scolded her cold friend
"At home," Adira muttered out as she rested her head against Chrissy and crossed her legs, scooting as close to her as possible. Chrissy didn't mind though, the two of them were always like this

They finally made it to the trailer park and Eddie quickly pulled up next to his and his uncles caravan before jumping out of the car. They all got out of the car and looked up at the caravan in front of them, unbeknownst to the fact that Maxine Mayfield was watching the three of them in confusion
"This is uh, my castle," Eddie explained to the two girls with a playful grin on his face
"Alright, I'll see you guys later," Adira says to them both with a smile and gives Chrissy a hug, "see ya later loser. Love you!" She said to Chrissy and held onto her hand dramatically as she walked off before letting go
"Bye bitch! Love you too!" Chrissy called out to her with a wide grin as she watched Adira jog over to Max who was now making her way back to her own caravan, container in her hand that was now empty due to her giving the food to the dog
"Yo Maxy!" Adira called out with a wide smile. Max looks surprised, she hadn't expected to see Adira that night, but she wasn't upset about it. Adira was the only person that Max really talked to anymore
"Hey Adira," max said to her and gave a her small smile as she threw her arms around the older girl and gave her a hug, "I didn't know that you were coming over tonight."
"Well I thought we could maybe have a sleep over or something," Adira said as she hugged the girl back, Adira did everything she could to try and make sure that Max was feeling okay, she knew what she was going through and she knew that max wouldn't be able to go through it alone, just like she couldn't deal with it alone. So they dealt with it together, "We can go to mine or stay here, whatever you prefer."
Max pulled away from the hug with a wide smile on her face, "might as well stay here, it's too late to skate back to your house now." Max loved having Adiras company, she felt like she was really the only person that she had left. She had her mum, but even her mum was gone, lost in the world of alcohol and depression, "I made mac and cheese if you want some."
"Max. You are a god send," Adira groaned happily and the two girls walked into the caravan. They walked through the lounge room bit, Ms Mayfield was passed out on the couch, snoring softly with a bunch of beer bottles in the floor around her
Adira gave the woman a sad look as they walked past her and over to the kitchen where Max got a bowl for her and Adira and began to spoon the two of them some of the cheesy pasta. Adira lifted herself up onto the bench and swung her legs back and forward as she waited for max to finish, "you seem to be on edge the last few days, is there anything that you need to talk about?" Adira asked her softly
Max handed her the bowl and a spoon before leaning her back against the bench opposite from where Adira was. She didn't say anything for a few moments, thinking about whether or not she should tell Adira about what had been happening
Max let out a small sigh before nodding her head, "I think I'm going crazy Addy..." Max choked out, Adira was the only person that she would dare tell this to besides the counciler at school, and she didn't even want to tell that woman what she was going through at the moment, "I've been..." she hesitated
"Seeing things?" Adira spoke up suddenly, resulting in Max's eyes widening in shock before she nodded her head. Adira also nodded over at the red haired girl, "having nightmares? Seeing some weird ass clock randomly? Losing track of time?"
Max couldn't believe it. Could Adira also be going through the same thing as her? "You mean... you've been seeing things too?"
Adira let out a small sigh before nodding her head, "something fucked up is happening in Hawkins Max."
"But when- when did you start to see stuff? What are you seeing?" Max asked, she was no longer leaning lazily against the bench, she was now standing up and in front of Adira with a desperate look on her face
"This morning. It started this morning... I was walking out of my bathroom and," her voice became shaky, "Billy was there... on my bed, but it wasn't Billy. His face was grey and wrinkled, his eyes were sunken in his skull," tears poured down her face as she remembered what had happened, "he was about to say something to me but the song that Bill and I always listened to began to play on my radio... and then I saw the stupid clock in the woods today when I was with Eddi-"
"Why are you hanging out with him suddenly?" Max suddnely asks her, an unreadable look on her face
"They needed a player remember, since nobody else stepped up, I decided to fill in." Adira explains to Max
"But why were you in the woods with him?" She asked Adira in confusion, her eyebrows were furrowed in confusion and accusation
"Weed my dear friend, weed," Adira explained with a small cheeky grin, "gotta try and stop the hallucinations some way right?" Max nodded her head softly
"Is that why Chrissy Cunningham just went into Eddie's caravan?" Max asked Adira and Adira just nodded her head, she knew Max wouldn't tell anyone, nor would she stop asking until she found out the answer
"Alright, so you wanna tell me what you've been seeing and when it started?" Adira asked Max softly, reaching out to put an arm around Maxine's shoulders.
"Well I've mainly been seeing that stupid clock, but also my mum, and she looked the same as how you described Billy. It started a-" Max started but stopped suddenly when all of the lights in the house began to flicker violently.
Adira and Max both get goosebumps rise on their skin as they turned to look at each other. Memories flooded back into their heads and while neither of them would say it out loud...
They were scared.
