It was New year's eve

"Dawn hurry up! We're gonna miss the fireworks"

The 21-year-old Bong said while pulling Dawn's hand.

"Eto na..wait.. masyado ka naman yatang nagmamadali Bong 11:40 pm pa lang we still have 20 mins"

The 18-year-old Dawn responded.

"Ang bagal mo kasi! Dali na.. andun na daw yung bestfriend mo at friends ko tayo nalang kulang"

"Sige na ito na let's run" she said

Bong and Dawn were running fast papunta sa location kung saan pwede panuorin ang fireworks.

Every year kasi simula ng magkakilala sila, it was their tradition.

They were both students at the University of London.

When they finally got to the spot, they saw their friends waiting for them.

"Love birds, nakarating din kayo, we've been waiting for you kanina pa!" Jay said.

"Ah sorry bro, ito kasing si Dawn ang bagal kumilos. So slow like a turtle" Biro ni Bong.

"Oi Bonget grabe ka sakin ah.. sige ayoko na break na tayo" Dawn said na parang nagmamaktol.

Bong looked at her amused at mas lalo pa niya itong inasar.

"Ah ganun? Break na tayo agad? Kakasagot mo lang sa akin kanina ah? Well if that's the case, dito nalang ako sa bestfriend mo.. halika nga dito Liza" Bong naughtily smiled sabay akbay kay Liza.

Natawa naman si Liza.

"Naku wag nyo ko dinadamay sa LQ niyo ah.. nananahimik ako dito oh.. at isa pa, mas type ko si Jay kaysa sayo Bonget." Liza said as she removed his arm from her shoulder.

"Aray naman! Wala palang may type sakin.. sige na nga, sayo nalang ulit ako Dawn!" He said sabay akap kay Dawn.

"Kakainis naman to e! Bong wag ka nang mag joke ng ganyan ha.. di ka nakaktuwa."

Dawn said sabay irap kay Bong.

"Oo na sorry na my sweet heart.. pa kiss nga!" Sabay halik sa lips ni Dawn

"Hoy tumigil ka! Dapat mamaya pa ang kiss sa midnight.. did you know, na pag before midnight daw nag kiss ang mag boyfriend girlfriend, maghihiwalay sila?" Dawn said in a serious tone.

Natawa naman si Bong.

"Lam mo ikaw Dawn, masyado kang gullible. Wag ka nga maniwala jan, basta ako... You are my first love.. at di tayo maghiwalay ok?" Bong said as he looked at Dawn's eyes before kissing her in the forehead.

After that, the fireworks display started. Bong, Dawn, and their friends were mesmerized by how beautiful it was.

Dawn started to tear up a little as she held Bong's hand and said.

"Bong, promise me.. na kung sakaling maghiwalay man tayo, you will always find your way back to me."

Bong just looked at Dawn and said..

"Naku tigilan mo na yang kadramahan mo, just enjoy the display" he said as he smiled at her.

After a few months, it was their school break.

During their university summer break, Bong decided to go to New York while Dawn wanted to go home to the Philippines.

Before they said Goodbye, Dawn told Bong.

"I'll write you letters every day ha.. make sure to write back kung hindi.." she said while sounding gigil

Bong looked at Dawn na tawang tawa before he responded

"Oo naman! I'll write to you everyday... Pwede ko ba naman di sulatan ang aking first love?" He said while smiling

Napangiti naman si Dawn sa sagot nito before saying

"Oh sige na! I have to go! I'll see you when the class resumes ok? Bye sweetie" Dawn said as she kissed Bong goodbye.

Little did she know, that was the last time they will see each other as lovers.

Pag resume ng klase, wala na si Bong. He dropped out. At dahil hindi pa masyadong uso ang phone, she didn't know where to find him.

Her heart was left shattered and broken.

He looked for him everywhere for almost a year. Lahat din ng sulat niya, hindi na sinasagot ni Bong.

Until one day, nabalitaan nalang niya that Bong married her best friend Liza.
