Gab’s POV
“Patapos na ang huling laban.”
Kai arrived at the dining hall. We’re here to get snacks because the battle in the arena is taking too long. Lahat kami ay walang tulog dahil kahit gabi ay patuloy pa rin ang kompetisyon. Limang oras ang binigay kada round, may iba na tatlong oras lang ang itinagal ng laban ngunit may ilan na halos kainin na ang limang oras na binigay sa kanila.
It's actually the next day and most of the creatures here are still alive and noisy pero konti lang ang nandito ngayon sa dining hall dahil karamihan ay nasa arena o hindi naman kaya ay naglilibot sa mga booth na nandito.
“Wala ka bang sariling pagkain?” Inis na tinulak ko si Kai paalis sa tabi ko nang sinimulan niyang papakin ang kinakain ko. Hindi pa nahiya at pati ang inumin ko ay walang pasabi niyang inubos.
Maya maya naman ay nilapitan siya ni Ellaine at walang pag aalinlangan na binatukan ito. “Aray ko!”
“Patay gutom.” rinig kong bulong ni Ellaine bago nagmamadaling umalis kaya naman ay natawa ako.
“Narinig ko yun!” sigaw ni Kai bago habulin ang dalaga. Napailing na lang ako dahil alam kong magsisimula na namang magbangayan ang dalawang yun.
"How's Kamill?"
Jade arrived at the dining hall. Matapos ang laban nila ay agad silang nagtungo sa infirmary. Mas malaki ang natamong injury ni Kamill kaysa kay Jade kaya naman nanatili pa ito doon hanggang ngayon.
"She just needs to get some rest. Levi said she will be fine." Tango na lamang ang naisagot ni Ate Roxanne sa kaniya.
I sighed, "I have this odd feeling that I will be the seeker for the last round."
Natawa naman si Jade sa akin at nagawa pa akong batuhin ng balat ng kamote. "Don't think about it too much. Sige ka at baka ma-manifest yan."
Inirapan ko na lang siya at nagpatuloy sa pagkain. Bahala na mamaya.
Agad na kaming nagtungo sa arena matapos kumain at bumungad sa amin ang mainit na palakpakan ng mga narito. Nanalo ang hider sa round na ito.
I'm not surprised when I saw the hider, it was Zeike. That guy is a one man team.
Ellaine also won when it was her round. It was an easy fight since the seekers conceded defeat. While on Kai's round, he just played around with his opponents. They can't catch him even if he just stayed on one area.
“And now for the final battle, we have the one of the strongest demigods, the highest rank, born with the hunters, descendant of Zeus, Callum Hargreeves!”
And as if the ground shook, everyone welcomed him with applause, roaring his name with pride and joy. He stood up in the middle of the platform without uttering a word yet his presence screams a lionhearted warrior.
“Settle down folks.. Now let us see who will be the seekers.." Suddenly, everybody went silent. Tila ba may dumaang anghel dahil sa nakakabinging katahimikan.
The moment Mr. Thompson lifted a card, my heart beat faster than I could ever imagine, "The seekers are... Azra Climenté, Razvan Salvador, Shia Evergreen, Roxanne Santiago, and Gabriella Dawson!"
When I heard my name, all I could think about was how I really manifested the thoughts that's been bothering me earlier.
"I told you so!" Natatawang pang aasar sa akin ni Jade but I couldn't care less.
Sa lahat ng pwedeng makalaban, bakit siya pa? It's like losing even when the game hasn't started yet. Kahit siguro pagsama-samahin kaming lahat dito ay walang makakatalo sa kanya, or at least there's two who have a chance against him and that's Ellaine and Zeike, but other than them? Wala na.
