Third Person's POV
Nagmamadaling magmaneho si Callum pabalik ng Hillside Academy. Ramdam niya ang tensyong nakapalibot sa kanyang katabi na tahimik lang na pinagmamasdan ang kanilang dinadaanan.
Nang malaman nila na nawawala ang ina ni Gab, agad na tinawagan ni Callum si Ellaine upang pabalikin ito sa school. Sigurado siyang pati ang iba ay babalik din kapag ipinaalam na sa mga ito ng dalaga ang tungkol sa sitwasyon.
“She'll be fine.” Lumingon si Gab sa kanya at tipid lang na ngumiti. Napabuntong hininga si Callum at binilisan nalang magpatakbo.
“Let's–” Natigil siya nang paglingon ni Callum ay wala na si Gab sa tabi niya nang makarating sila ng school.
Callum hurriedly went to Ms. Clio’s office and just like he thought, Gab was there. Tahimik itong nakasandal sa upuang katabi ng table ng headmistress. The Muse was standing with her arms crossed.
“I'm afraid I can't help you, Gabriella. I do not know what is happening. Someone is blocking my vision.” The Muse walked back and forth, frustrated.
“What do you mean, Ms. Clio?” Tanong ni Callum na kakarating lang.
“I can't see the past. It's just a black mist whenever I try. Someone powerful must be behind this.” Napabuntong hininga ang babae at napaupo na.
Napaatras si Ms. Clio nang malakas na hampasin ni Gab ang lamesa niya at nabasag ang salamin nito. “Where's my mother, Clio?”
“I'm sorry, Gab. I don't know.” Napayuko ang headmistress, nalulungkot dahil hindi matulungan ang kanyang estudyante.
Wala na silang nagawa nang maglaho nalang bigla si Gab sa harapan nila. Umalis na rin si Callum ng office at naiwan ang headmistress na nakatitig sa mga bubog na naiwan sa sahig.
“Help me find my mother.”
Hades was shocked by his daughter's sudden appearance in his castle. He didn't even see her coming because she did not call her father's name to get to the underworld. She just appeared right in front of him.
“Calm down, Makari..” Napatayo ang ama nito at nilapitan siya. Dahan dahan niyang hinawakan ang anak at doon na bumuhos ang luhang kanina pa pinipigilan ni Gab nang malamang nawawala ang ina niya, “What happened, my sweet?”
“My mom.. She's– She's gone. I– I don't know what happened. I just went home and then– and then she was gone. Callum and I searched the whole house and–” Tuluyan nang bumagsak sa bisig ng kanyang ama ang dalaga at tanging hagulgol lang nito ang maririnig sa palasyo.
“Shh.. We will find her, my sweet. We will find her.” He comforted his daughter while stroking his hand on her head.
“Makari..” Napaayos siya ng upo nang marinig ang pamilyar na boses.
“Reu.. My mom..” Agad na sinalo ng yapos ni Reu ang kapatid at inalo ito.
He had no idea how much his sister's sobs would break his heart. Nobody can ever believe that a God's heart could be ruined by the mere cry of a demigod.
“What happened?” Reu asked when she finally calmed down.
“All I saw was a man wearing a cloak. He said, to get my mom back, I need to give him Poseidon's trident.” Gab explained. Napakunot naman ang noo ni Hades.
“My brother's trident was missing,” Nabaling ang atensyon ni Gab sa ama. “That is why the council held a meeting earlier. It was the first time I joined their meeting after the war, and it was chaotic—not even a minute of the meeting.”
