I was a normal man, with normal dreams. I had a new opportunity. A new résumé. A blank sheet of paper to fill in. Tabula Rasa. A house. A welcome carpet in the entryway. Home sweet home. A pet, a maid and two trees. A 9 to 5 job, where you have to move things from one place to another, so they can replace other things. One of those jobs that fit perfectly, like the pieces of the puzzle. Coffee and newspaper every morning. I had a woman I had never had before. I didn't feel cold anymore, I didn't feel hot anymore, I didn't feel pain anymore. I had no memories. I felt nothing. No more nothing.
