I lay on the hard floor, staring up at the ceiling as I float a piece of paper above my head with the force.

After the meeting with Vader ended, Zena took us all to separate rooms, explaining that this is where we will train for the next two hours before the second task begins. When I entered the room fore the first time I was shocked by the bareness of it, from the lack of furniture to the blank, white walls and plain hardwood floors. I had assumed we would be taken back to our own rooms to get ready but apparently that 'allowed distractions', as Zena put it.

When Zena was asked about getting our lightsabers back (after they were taken from us before the first task) she said that we would be able to retrieve them after this task is over.

I can't help but think of the absurdity of this competition; the fact that it's supposed to be a test of our skills as inquisitors and they are constantly taking away our most valued asset, our lightsabers.

So now, here I am, laid out on the uncomfortable floor, bored out of my mind. I spent the first half hour practising basic force tricks but soon grew weary as I realised I didn't know anything about the task we are supposed to be training for. That's when I turned to the small ball of paper I had screwed up in my pocket and began floating that around to occupy my restless mind.

I move into a seated position, when I suddenly sense that something isn't quite right. I glance around the room curiously but notice nothing out of the ordinary.

Then, as if appearing out of thin air, a seeker droid materializes right in front of me. Before I can react it gets the upper hand, shocking me in the leg with its electro-rod.

A few months ago, the seeker droids were given an upgrade by the Imperials. An upgrade that helps them fight back against misbehaving citizens. An upgrade that allows them to shoot electricity at their victims. Electricity that really fucking hurts.

It usually starts as a quick jolt to the skin, but the longer they keep blasting a person, the more damaged the skin becomes. Worst case scenario is the damaged area gets severely burnt.

The sharp shock to my leg should jolt me into action but for some reason I am frozen in place. The smell of the cloth covering my leg burning fills my nose, which very quickly turns to the stench of burning flesh.

One look at the worsening wound drags me out of my stupor and I leap into action, using the force to throw the droid into the wall, where it smashes into tiny pieces.

I breath out a quick sigh of relief and then carefully examine my raw flesh. It looks worse than it actually is but the pain shooting through it makes it harder to move.

A loud beeping noise fills the room as a vent on one wall opens up, emitting more seeker droids. I climb unsteadily to my feet. If I had my lightsaber on me this would be a simple task but the reliance of the force during combat is much more difficult.
