"Are you sure this is a good idea Lix?"
"C'mon Chris, it'll be perfect, trust me!"
"I think it is a good idea."
"Me too. I think it'll go well."
"Thank you, Jisung. Seungmin."
"Still, think this is gonna backfire."
Changbin sighed as he watched those four boys rambling in English. They've been at it for the last 20 minutes and honestly, Changbin was getting tired of it. He couldn't understand a word.
"What are they talking about," the boy asked Hyunjin.
Hyunjin said nothing.
"Hey, Hyunjin? Hyunjin. HYUNJIN!"
"W-What," Hyunjin mumbled, clearly not listening to the other.
"I asked if you know what they're talking about!"
"Oh, um, nothing important I think..." Hyunjin trailed off. Changbin narrowed his eyes in suspicion, but before he could retort, Minho stood up.
"Hey Changbin, I'm going to the convenience store. Wanna come?"
Changbin shrugged, also standing up and following Minho to the exit.
"Can I come, too?" Jeongin asked.
"Sure Innie."
"They're gone," Hyunjin said.
"Yes! Now we can talk!"
Minho and Changbin returned from the convenience store 30 minutes later, snacks in hand, but strangely, they found the dance studio deserted. Jeongin had gotten a call and had to leave early, so it was just the two of them.
"That's weird," Changbin said. Minho nodded. "How about we just head back to the dorm?"
Minho checked the time. "How about we just eat our snacks first?"
"Can't we just-"
"I'm too lazy to call the manager."
"Seriously?"
"Let's just eat." Before Changbin could retort, Minho grabbed a bag of chips and ripped it open. "Fine. I am a bit peckish, anyway."
10 minutes later, Changbin hear Minho's phone ring.
"One sec," Minho said, stepping out of the room.
Changbin sighed. Everyone had been acting so secretive today...
"Jeo- I mean the manager said we need to head back to the dorms," Minho said.
"Okay..." Was he about to say Jeongin?
The dorms were too quiet for Changbin's liking.
"Where is everybody?" Changbin asked Minho. The older shrugged.
"I'm going to wash up," Minho said, walking away.
"Wait-" That's not the direction to his room.
"SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER!" Changbin jumped back as a certain Australian boy yelled right in his ear, confetti floating around him.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" everyone yelled as Minho came out holding a cake.
"You little-"
"Sorry. Now let's sing. HaPpY bIrThdaY tO yOOOOOoOoo!"
Changbin cackled as everyone purposefully sang like shit.
As Changbin blew out the candles, Felix came up behind him, holding a cupcake. Without warning, Changbin felt something moist go down his hoodie.
Felix laughed, but before he could run, Changbin took a chunk of cake and hurled it at him, hitting the freckled boy square in the face.
Soon enough, cake was being hurled everywhere.
Best party ever, Changbin thought.
