I had invited the girls up to my dorm to help me get ready for tonight. Oh how I regretted that decision, as my room currently had clothes strewn all over the place. There was even a bra strung up on the ceiling fan and I am positive it isn't mine. I would of remembered purchasing something red and lacy.
Anna and Harley are the only ones here as Alexa is away with girl trouble. I'm sort of thankful she wasn't here because if she's anything like her twin, my dorm would look even worse. When I answered the door to the two room destroyer's, they proceeded to insult my frog slippers and claimed that I was a fashion emergency.
We are two hours in and they finally gave up with trying to find me an outfit we all agreed on.
"I don't see what's wrong with the outfit I have on," I stated, looking down at my floral sundress, oversized knit cardigan, black high top vans and colourful socks that say " Donut have time for this."
"Look, honey, you dress like an old lady crossed with a small child, who got to chose their own out for the first time" Harley explained.
"Exactly," Anna agrees, I'm not quite sure I know what they mean.
"It's just, we don't want you to stand out too much at the Fish Bowl as there are some bad people there."
"We're doing this to protect you." Anna nods her head.
But I stood my ground, I don't want to wear something that I'm not comfortable in. If I'm going to be meeting another one of their friends tonight, I don't want to look like someone I'm not.
It took a bit of convincing but the girls agreed to me wearing what I already had on. But on one condition, that Anna was allowed to do my makeup and Harley do my hair.
It took just under an hour for the girls to work their magic. I barely recognised myself. Anna had somehow managed to make my skin glow, like Edward Cullen from twilight. Harley had managed to neaten up my bangs and make them curve away from my face perfectly and fix my hair from its usually messy bun so it slinks down my back like a silk scarf.
Unexpectedly, I let out a tear. I felt overwhelmed with happiness because I've never had friends to get ready with before. Or someone to do my hair and makeup for me.
The girls asked me what was wrong. I had told them that I was just sensitive and that I appreciated them bringing me along tonight. I did not wish to dwell on it, or explain the real reason.
After they had both gotten ready with the stuff they had bought, we made our way out of the girls dorms to meet the others. We spotted them, but before I could wave, Harley stopped me.
"We just want to warn you that Lars might not take well to someone like you" Anna said.
"Someone like me?" I questioned.
"Someone sweet and wacky. Sunshine in human form" Harley clarified.
I nodded. I'm going to count that as a compliment.
"It's just Lars can barely stand us. I mean if it wasn't for Knox he'd probably never leave his apartment." Anna clarified "Or worse, he'd end up in jail."
Harley nodded, "just don't be offended or upset when he brushes you off, it's nothing personal. He might be nicer to you cause you're with us."
"And by nice she means blank stares instead of ones filled with hatred." Anna laughed, but I could tell she was serious.
I had suddenly become more nervous than I already was. Why would I want to meet Lars if this is what his friends had to say about him. But I'm going to go into this with an open mind, everyone deserves a little compassion. Everyone needs a friend. Who knows what Lars's story is. We all have one.
