A few days had passed and me and Lars spent a lot of time together upon me finding out about his library. He let me come over when ever I wanted and would read to me till my heart's content.
It meant that I had fallen behind on my work and he had even convinced me to skip a class.
He had too much power over me.
So that's why I was sat in a coffee shop on the same street as the Ring, trying to catch up on my work.
But I noticed that there were two scary looking guys eyeing me from the other side of the café. In fact I recognised these men, I think they were the guards from the Ring.
It made me uncomfortable that they were so blatantly staring but I tried my best to ignore them and carried on with what I was doing.
Half an hour later, one of the guards began to speak very loudly to his phone.
I assuming he was talking to someone. He kept saying things like, "yeah she's here" and "I've got eyes on her."
It started to make me panic because I knew he was speaking about me, but I had no idea who he was talking to.
I began packing up to leave but when I looked up again, one of the guards was stood at the entrance, anticipating my escape.
I was trapped here and I didn't know how long for.
I scanned my eyes over all of the people in the shop, trying to see if anyone had noticed the scary men. But it seemed that everyone was just enjoying their afternoon, like I had hoped for.
I was nervously tapping the table with my fingers, a habit I thought I had broken, considering I wasn't filled with as much anxiety as I used to.
I was lost in my thoughts with my gaze looked on the empty coffee mug, when I felt a presence sit down opposite me.
"My, my, my. What do we have here?" An unknown voice said.
I looked up and found myself face to face with a large man. He was smiling at me, but it didn't resemble what normal smiles looked like, no, it looked like he was struggling to show his grimy, yellow teeth and I wish he didn't.
There was a dark look behind his eyes and I knew that he must've been the man on the phone.
Nothing about him was warm or inviting.
"W-who a-are y-you?" I stuttered, cursing myself for showing that I was scared.
"I'm the Boss." He answered menacingly.
He stuck out his hand for me to shake. I glanced at it, unsurely, before I reluctantly placed my hand in his. He wrapped his whole hand around mine, squeezing it tightly, not letting me go.
"You are just as beautiful as your mother." He sneered.
I flinched at his comment, ripping my hand from his and backing into my chair, trying to distance myself as much as I can, even though I know it's useless.
"W-what." Tears pricked my eyes.
He gave me another chilling smile.
My breathing started to pick up, indicating that I was near a panic attack.
"Don't worry, doll." He mocked, "I'm not here to hurt you."
My eyes darted around the room, looking for an exit, but that guard was still blocking the entrance. He was doing it in a subtle way so it doesn't raise any suspicions.
"I'm actual here to warn a friend of yours." He started toying with a small, sharp knife, he must've pulled out of his pocket.
I nodded my head for him to continue, trying to come across as calm.
