It was Harley's birthday and she was going all out. She demanded that we all go paintballing in the morning and then to a club in the evening.
It was her day and she was making sure everybody knew.
"Happy birthday!" I cheered, handing her a bouquet of flowers and a bag with her presents in.
I got to the girls apartment early this morning so we could all have a birthday breakfast without the boys before we go paintballing, which I am petrified for.
"Thanks El!" Harley beamed, setting the bag aside to open later.
I walked over to the dining table where there was an array of foods set out. I knew that it had to have been Anna who had done this, as everything was arranged perfectly because she was a perfectionist.
There were pancakes, waffles, fruits, pastries, oatmeal, coffee and fresh juice.
"My god, it all looks amazing." I gushed.
"That would be because of me." Anna said, walking out the kitchen wearing a cute apron.
"I had my suspicions." I laughed.
Alexa brought the last of the fruit out before we all sat at the table and tucked in.
Not much conversation happened between us because we were all too engrossed in the delicious food in front of us.
Despite my love for waffles, I decided not to have them and opted for a croissant and fruit. Fooling myself into thinking I'm a healthy eater.
"When are you going to open your presents?" I asked, leaning against the chair, nursing my food baby.
"I think I will later, pre going to the club because I know I'll be far too hung over tomorrow. But resisting the temptation is hard." Harley chuckled.
I nodded at her answer, completely understanding because who doesn't love unwrapping presents?
"Quick, let's tidy up the boys should be here any minute." Anna said, rushing around.
"You'd make a great housewife." I teased.
"Amen!" She exclaimed.
Before I could say anything else, the doorbell rang.
"Happy birthday Harley." The boys chimed at the door.
She thanked them and ushered them inside.
I noticed Lars wasn't with them and I felt a panging in my chest and I tried to ignore it.
God, I hope no one noticed the look of disappointment on my face.
"Cheer up doll. He'll be here in like 5 minutes." Yousef said quietly, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I scoffed, brushing his arm off.
"Keep telling yourself that." He laughed, walking away.
I went over to the couch and sat next to Alexa, joining in on the conversation.
"Harley, who came up with the genius idea to go paintballing?" Cooper asked smugly, knowing it was him.
"Another word out of your mouth today and I'll be uninviting you." She half joked.
Everybody laughed at the pairs jabs at each other whilst waiting for Lars.
Before I could miss him anymore the doorbell went and there he was at the door.
His eyes instantly met mine and I noticed his shoulder visibly relax.
