4. Loving English Studies

I woke up with a start. Curse my brain for making me dream of the mysterious Lars. We were both at my dads cottage, sat under the willow tree talking our hearts out. God I wished that it was real.

Anyway today is a new day, no more thoughts of Lars.

However I do hope he's with the gang during lunch, so maybe I can see him.

Okay enough.

I head over to my wardrobe and chose one of my many floral dresses. I pick a different cardigan for today. It's a dusty pink and it matches my dress perfectly. I scramble to put on my black high top vans, accompanied with yellow socks with little monkeys holding bananas, that say "Go Bananas."

I make it to my English Studies class with 30 seconds to spare. There goes me trying to be early for every class.

This is the class I was most excited for since I just adored books and all things reading. My room is flooded with books back at home and I was almost brought to tears when I had to part with them.

I push the door, not anticipating how light it was because it slams into the wall. Everyone turns to look at me, including the professor who's already started.

I give him a sheepish look. When I spot the star of my dreams. Lars. He's sat furthest away from everyone else right at the top. He spots me and I wave making my way up to him.

I sit in the seat next to him and he shifts uncomfortably.

I lean into his side and stretch up to his ear so I can whisper, "Hi."

He side eyes me and moves away.

Great.

I try to pay attention to the lecture, but it's difficult when a big bear is sat next to me taking up all the space and periodically letting out depth breaths. And especially because all I want to do is talk to him, so I distract myself by studying the tattoos and veins that run along his hands and wrists. I also get a closer up of his piercings, he has 5 dotted about his ear, and a singular hoop through his right nostril.

For someone with such a cold personality, all he does is admit heat.

This semester we were studying: Gods, Monsters and Heroes: Myths and Legends in Literature. I was looking forward to see what our project would be.

Fed up of the silence between us. I speak.

"I wasn't expecting to see you in my English Studies class today." He side eyes me again.

"Not saying that people like you shouldn't study English, I mean you're just such a big grizzly bear. I would've thought you'd rather be a guard then sat in a classroom and considering you don't like talking to people," I bite my lip realising I just went on a ramble. Oh god what if I offended him.

"I'm sorry if I offended you with anything I just said," I looked up to find him smirking down at me.

"I'll just shut up now," I turn to pay attention to our lecture, not before hearing him let out a small chuckle.

My heart warmed when I heard it.

The lecture had ended and everyone was packing their stuff away, ready to leave. I took my time in putting my cute stationary away, forgetting that I was sat in the aisle seat, meaning the giant was stood waiting for me to move.

He grunted, and because I've known him for almost a full 24 hours, I could understand his grunts and grumbles.

I knew that one meant he wanted to leave, so I got out of his way.
