It's been weeks after the initial end of the world and start of our space adventure. The Professor said he was building a mechanism to help me, but I'm starting to have my doubts. Everyone looks so happy to be venturing out into space, especially Leo. April's with him all the time now, which makes me furious. I can't do anything about it though. I'm too weak to go out into space. I've been leaking from my eyes a lot more often. I feel alone because nobody cares for me like they used to back on Earth. I feel hollow inside. I hate space.

Iris was scribbling on a screened apparatus provided by Fugitoid. They still couldn't hold a pen very well, so to some it would seem like it was gibberish, or an ancient language that nobody could translate. Iris could feel their heart being kneaded inside of themselves. They continued to write.

I feel like my development with Leo has also gone down the drain. It seems his one true love is an endless black sky that reminds me of my previous life. I wish the whole universe could blow up.

Suddenly, a cold hand was pressed against their shoulder. Iris jumped up violently, nearly breaking their venting apparatus.

"It's alright, Iris. I was just here to tell you that your learning device is just about complete."

Iris put their geometrically shaped device face down on their "desk" and followed Fugitoid to a laboratory.

"Okay, now you need to put this on your head. Are you ready?"

Iris nodded immediately and did as they were instructed, strapping the painfully white helmet on. Electric pulses began to vibrate against their cranium, and the knowledge began to seep inside.

Everything from the history of the world was being relayed into their brain. From the traces of the start of humanity to the arts they created. The good and the bad were being relayed inside. It hurt. Iris was clinging onto their sanity for dear life. They clenched their teeth and began to shed tears.

"How much more?" Iris asked between shuddering breaths.

"Just a few more minutes, I'm afraid."

Iris suppressed the urge to scream. They scratched their nails against the modernistic seat.

Finally, after an eternity, the machine completed feeding information to Iris. They almost immediately removed the helmet, wiping their face and scratching their head with both hands.

"Guh..." They said with cracked voice.

Honeycutt held his hand out to them. Iris smiled and took it as they stood, legs wobbling. He handed them a cool cup of juice.

"It'll take a while to get used to all of the new information, but you'll be more knowledgeable than ever before!" The professor winked using his screen.

"Thank you, Fugitoid." Iris felt a genuine joy inside of them. They still felt horrible in their mind, but they weren't as lonely as they used to.
