The breakfast three days later was... awkward, to say the least. After much convincing that Donnie wouldn't hide away for hours on end, the Professor agreed to let him have breakfast with everyone else. Before, Honeycutt would preemptively grab breakfast and let Donatello eat in the hull.
Donnie, over the past few days, was trying to think back on his reaction. He scoured the deep crevices of his mind to search for the answer. What he found was an revelling prognosis. Was he, himself, queer? He didn't bother to argue himself out of it. He just let the answer fester inside his mind.
Now he was standing in front of the entrance. "Hey, guys..."
Raphael swiveled his head around, a flash of confusion briefly illuminating his face. It dropped as soon as he realized it was his brother's voice.
Everyone was there. The twins, but Raziel looked just about ready to leave. Iris and Donnie's brothers were there was well. Iris had their face and arms on the table, snoozing the morning away. Casey and April sat near them, with Casey's thick unkempt eyebrows raised suspiciously. Everyone was there.
Why did everyone have to be there?
Donnie continued standing awkwardly. He felt as if he was going to cry again. All of those eyes, boring holes through his shell. If he could, Donnie wished he could tear himself apart and put himself back together again.
Casey was the first to get out of his seat. He had his head down, giving him an intimidating aura. He stomped over to Donnie, but when he looked up, his eyes were watery like that of a puppy dog's.
"Oh man, I'm really sorry D! I didn't mean to make you sad like that. From now on, whenever you say, I'll shut up."
"I'm liking this bargain, Jones."
"Donnie, we're, I'm really sorry. You're my friend, I would never want to make you uncomfortable like that." April had one hand on his shoulder and her other hand over her heart in a sincere manner.
"We didn't mean it. Even if we were joking. We should've stopped when you said to."
Donnie felt a tsunami of emotions crash over his, but he was quick to swallow the feeling of tears. "It's okay."
Donnie looked at his friends, who all had pleading looks on their faces. After an eye roll and nod, Donnie was smothered into a group hug. All except for Raziel. Raziel stayed stationed in his seat. He looked distant, fidgeting with his necklace once more. Maya gave Donnie a sad but knowing face. She knew.
Fugitoid burst through the room, his head spinning frantically. "Everyone! There seems to be people attacking our ship!"
"Who?" Raph asked, first to wriggle out of the hug.
"Sarchagelians." Jophiel said.
