"Phi?" Maya looked timidly at her psychic.

It was the middle of the night, and the group was finally resting after a particularly grueling day of battling hierarchical bug aliens.

"Yes?" Jophiel slept sometimes, but tonight her mind was particularly focused on learning what to expect in the future. "Did you need something Maya?"

"Um, can you see into the future and see if I would look good with short hair?"

"Oh!" Jophiel squeaked ecstatically. She shushed herself and lowered her tone significantly. "I don't have to look into the future to see that you would look great with short hair."

"Aw..." Maya's cheeks reddened, and she turned away bashfully. "Do you know how to cut hair, Jophiel?"

"I do, actually. Too bad we don't have any scissors."

Maya held up a glowing bright orange tonfa in her hand. "I borrowed it from Mikey. Do you think you can work with this?"

"That's more than enough."

Hours had passed after Maya's at home salon session. Since then, everyone had already woken up and eaten breakfast.

"Where'd Maya go?" Mikey asked aloud with a spoonful of sugary cereal. "She left me while we were sleeping last night."

"You guys were sleeping. In bed. Together?!" Donnie pulled on his bandana tails in distress, assuming the worst. "Maya has a terrible influence on you!"

"Chillax, bro, we were just snuggling. Also, she was homesick, so she came on my bed for comfort."

Raphael pinched the space between his eyes. "Phrasing, Mikey. Please, watch your phrasing."

"What'd I say?"

"Maya!" Iris beamed and waved to the titular person. Leo noticed and thought they seemed to be in better spirits in the past few days. "Something is different about your appearance."

"I see you've expanded your vocabulary, Iris! I'm proud of you!"

Mikey turned around, and all of the marshmallowy goodness and milk escaped his mouth.

Standing before him was a 5'8" Japanese-Mexican American Maya Nakamura. She had her pinkish lavender suit on, which was normal in of itself. When he looked at her face, her middle part was normal, curling down her neck at the ends.

Her ponytail, however, was missing. In its place was curled up brown hair that was up to her chin, a bit shorter than the bangs. Maya's expression was of extreme embarrassment and unease, her lips shaking with anxiety and a quiver following it. Her eyes quickly danced around from green to purple.

Jophiel was not as embarrassed for her client. She put her hands on her hips in a superhero pose. "How do you like Maya's new 'do? I did it myself!"

"Jo, quit messing with people's hair!" Raziel argued over a mouthful of toast.

"D-do you like...Jesus Christ." Maya sighed exasperatedly. "Mikey, do you like it?"

"AHHHHHH!!!"
