You can't even comprehend how long you've waited for this moment. And to stand here alongside the two brothers. It was like a dream, one you'd never want to wake up from.
"I didn't expect to see you here" Heimdall smiles softly.
"I didn't expect to be here" you admit.
He shakes his head before leaning in to give you a hug. He was a dear friend to the princes and Therefore a dear friend to you. Always looking after you, keeping your secret meeting with the princes from your parents..
"Im sorry to cut this short, the king is waiting for you" Heimdall says, his tone shifting to a more serious manner. As he eyes Loki up an down. You already have a bad feeling and you've only been here a couple of seconds.
"I will take him my friend" Thor says calmly. As he grabs onto Lokis arm. Holding him tightly in place, just in case he divided to pull a number on you.
"Actually my prince, the king specifically requested that you shouldn't interfere" Heimdall says sadly.
"Very well then, I will simply make sure Loki gets there without causing trouble"
Loki rolls his eyes. You clench his hand trying to calm him down. But to be honest you'd be terrified facing Odín on your own. There's not telling what that man is capable of.
You turn around seeing three horses, you squeal in excitement as you run up to the white one, in one swift motion mounting him. "Im taking this one" you say happily.
Loki can't help but smile seeing you back here, it's like no time has passed. He mounts his old horse as well as Thor.
You turn your head looking back at the princes, as a glimpse of that night floods your mind.
"Last one to the palace is an old wench" you shout. Before riding off.
Both of the brothers quickly follows behind you, but even after your lack of rehearsal, you're still faster. This feeling was unlike any other. The wind blowing in your hair, as you feel like feather dancing through the wind. You watch in wonder as you near the city. Nothing has changed, it's just as beautiful as in your dreams.
You make your way through the town, taking the shortcut through the village. The people stop to look as they recognize you, whispering to themselves. Yet you don't notice, the thrill of being here has you high up in a sky of adrenaline.
You stop by the stables quickly jumping off. Waiting patiently for the princes to come. Shortly after Thor arrives, with Loki just around the corner. You can't stop smiling. And for a moment it seems the three of you have forgotten exactly why you're here.
That is until four guards walk out with chains and cuffs. Your heart skips a beat as they grab onto Loki cuffing his hands together. He doesn't move a muscle or flinch. Simply accepting his fate.
You're about to step up, when Loki shakes his head looking down at the ground. Thor grabs your arm holding it tightly.
"Don't" you hiss, breaking free of his grip. "He's not an animal"
"It's okay" Loki mouthes to you, before they put a cuff around his mouth.
You pull yourself into Thors embrace, not able to look at him as they drag him away. Thor holds the back of your head, it breaks his heart as he hears your quiet sobs.
"You're going with him right?" You ask desperately, looking up with begging eyes.
"I can't y/n" Thor says sadly.
"Can't or won't"
"Y/n you know I can't"
"Then I will" you growl.
