Backup came to take Jamie away once they cuffed him. Seeing him in handcuffs brought a smile to both Gavin's and Y/n's faces, watching as the man was pushed into the back of a police car. Y/n found herself with her arms wrapped around the man, a shaky breath escaping her as she clung to him. Seeing her this vulnerable wasn't something that most people saw every day. She was usually so closed off that people didn't even see her sad or angry; only happy.

Gavin snaked his arms around her gently, holding her close so she could get some sort of comfort from him. He wasn't amazing at comfort but he had lived with his mother long enough to know how to give a good hug.

"Hey, as soon as we get that bastard to fess up to everything then you don't have to worry about him again." He watched as she pulled away from their hug, tucking some hair behind her ear before nodding.

"You're right... I-I'll-"

"I can drive. You're shaking, Y/n, just let me take over for this one." Nodding, she followed him to the car where she got into the passenger's seat. Hugging herself, she cuddled into his jacket and looked out the window as he began driving back to the precinct. Ignoring the stinging feeling in his hand while he drove, he reached his hand over and clasped hers. Too nervous to see how she was reacting, he failed to see the blush that crept through her makeup and burned both her cheeks and ears. His own ears were bright red at the contact.

Arriving at the precinct, she kept a tight grip on his hand. She had been quiet for the entire ride and decided that he'd throw their bickering aside to help her out. Plus, there was no Hank to bother them or point it out this time. Leading her inside, he walked her to the observation room where the two sat and watched Chris cuff Jamie to the table. Rubbing the soft skin on the back of her hand with his rough thumb, he noticed her ease up. Chris walked in, the girl pulling her hand out of his grip as she took his jacket off and draped it over the back of the chair.

"Woah, where the hell do you think you're going?"

"I know what information I want to get out of him. Please, just trust me." After a reluctant nod, she left and the two men watched as she entered the interrogation room. Chris gave a reassuring pat on the shoulder to his fellow detective as the two watched her every move, Gavin at the ready if he tried anything.

"Well, hello Detective. You look good in uniform-"

"Cut the bullshit, Mr Faun. I want answers."

"Then ask questions."

"I think I'll tell a story instead." Y/n gave a small smile, "Tell me, does this sound familiar? You, Jamie Faun, meet a girl who works as a detective. A girl who is hot and works for the law seems like a great first step in your plan. Your next step is to woo her into moving in with you and she agrees. Getting her to agree to a joint bank account gives you the perfect leverage to manipulate her into staying, further manipulating her into believing you are a good person. This extra money gives you the perfect opportunity to spend more and more on the drug business you plan on starting since you know how red ice is created and you need to do it now. You need more money."

"You're spouting complete bullshit!"

"You thought that you could get away with producing red ice in the secret room behind the laundry room just because you had a detective for a girlfriend-"

"IT WASN'T IN THE FUCKING APARTMENT IT WAS IN THE BASEM-" He shut himself up, Gavin grinning.

"Do you want to tell me your accomplices too?"

"I'm not telling you shit."

"You're full of nerves, Mr Faun." She leaned closer, "You're gonna snap soon-" He lifted his hands, managing to grab her hair and yank her head into the table. Gavin stood up, running into the room where he pulled the girl away.

"We've got everything we need out of him. Take that sick bastard away." Chris nodded unlocking his cuffs to get him out when the blonde grabbed the man's gun. Gavin reacted fast, pulling Y/n down to the ground with him as two gunshots were fired. Gavin lifted his head to see that one bullet had hit the wall where the two of them once stood while the other had lodged itself into Jamie's brain. He lay dead on the floor, Chris backing away as he ran out of the room to get help.

Hiding her face from what they had just seen, she took her out of the room and sat her down while people were making calls in the office. "Is your head okay?"

"Y-yeah. My head is fine..." Pulling her shaking frame closer to his body, he planted a kiss on her temple. "D-Do we have to-"

"Believe me, I don't think we'll be on any cases until this entire android revolution is over." Gavin admitted, "Fowler said he's sending out a statement tonight. We'll most likely be hiding out in my house until this whole thing is done with."

"I hope they get their freedom."

"Yeah, me too." Standing up, he held his hand out for her to take. Accepting his offer, she was pulled up and into him, her hands resting against his chest. "Was... was that my fault?"

"No, Y/n. He was messed up in the head. I wouldn't be surprised if he was on that red ice crap. His nervousness and his eyes; it was pretty telling evidence. Don't worry. We won't check out that basement until after the revolution."

"O-Okay..."

"Come on, lets get you something to drink. I think Tina hid a can of Diet Coke in the fridge." Smiling, she followed him shakily, the man stopping abruptly and entering the observation room where he grabbed his jacket and walked back over to her.

Draping the jacket over her shoulders, he led her to the break room with an arm around her.
