Gavin was hesitant to open the door, two swat members entering the house once doing so.

"State your names and occupation."

"I'm Gavin Reed and I'm a detective at the DPD."

"I'm Y/n L/n and I work as a detective there too-"

"Hey, you're the one that punched Perkins!" Gavin rose a brow, "We're gonna need to see some ID, ma'am."

Sighing, she reached into her bag and pulled out her wallet. Taking out her driver's license, she handed it to him, "This hasn't been renewed here."

"W-What?"

"Ma'am, we're going to have to ask you to come with us under suspicion of being an android." Dropping the license, he turn her around and held her wrists tightly.

"Woah, what the fuck are you doing?" Gavin demanded, going to stop him but being stopped by the other swat member, "She's a human, asshole, I fuckin' grew up with her!"

"We're going to need proof that she's a human."

"Gavin, prick my finger."

"I'm not hurting you-"

"PRICK MY GODDAMN FINGER, ASSWIPE!" He groaned, reaching his hand through the peephole in his kitchen and grabbing one of his knives, holding her hand in his as he applied pressure to her finger until the knife broke the skin. Watching as the crimson liquid seeped from the wound, the officers nodded before asking for his ID. After being given his driver's license back, they left and advised them to stay in the house until further notice.

"I'll patch that up for you." Pulling her along with him, he ran her finger under some water before using kitchen paper to soak up any blood that seeps out.

"You're still really caring." She said with a smile, leaning closer to him, "I've always liked that about you."

"Yeah, well, don't expect it too often. You're super annoying." He laughed as he got a smack to the back of his head.

"Come on, I'm hungry."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever.

Sitting and eating, they watched the movie intently. They sat on opposite sides of the sofa, Rain led between them comfortably purring away whilst the two strays lay on the singular seated couch cuddled together. The movie ended at midnight, and the girl was exhausted. Taking their plates, she left to wash up while he checked the message Fowler sent out.

'Dear Employees,

The FBI is taking over for us so I advise that everybody stay in their houses and do not leave unless absolutely necessary until the matter has been resolved. I hope you all stay safe and I will update you all once I have been given further information.

Captain Jeffery Fowler'

"We're on lockdown, Priss."

"Lockdown?"

"Yeah; city-wide lockdown to make sure no one gets hurt."

"O-oh..." He looked over at her as she finished washing the dishes, raising an eyebrow.

"You good?"

"Yeah, yeah, fine, it's just..." Not able to look him in the eyes, she stared into the sink, "Could I sleep with you tonight?"

"Woah, you wanna do it old school-?"

"No, you idiot! God- never mind..."

"Hey, wait!" He circled his way around and stopped her before she could leave, "You can. I'm sure Rain won't mind."

"Thanks, Gavin." She gave him a tight hug before following him to his room. Letting her in, she looked around. He had a closet built into the wall on the right side of his room while his bed was on the left. Some pictures and shelves were scattered around.

"I sleep on the right side, so get comfy now."

"Will do." Climbing into his bed, she got under the covers and almost melted at how comfortable it was. Sighing contently, she watched as Gavin turned the lamp on his bedside table off before taking his shirt off and getting into the bed with her.

Turning away from her, he tried to hide the burning sensation flooding his cheeks as he lay in the bed with her. "Night, Priss."

"Good night, Gavin."

The room was quiet for 10 minutes, neither saying a word nor moving but both were still awake. Who could blame them? They were sleeping in the same bed.

"Hey, Gavin..."

"What?"

"I'm sorry if I woke you up, but can you hold me?" He felt like he might overheat. Turning over, he slid one arm under her and the other around her before pulling her into him causing butterflies to erupt in her stomach as she was pressed against his bare chest. Her scent overwhelmed his senses, the shampoo she uses being the one thing he was now addicted to.

"Is this okay?"

"It's perfect." Planting a soft kiss in her hair, he closed his eyes. Matching his breathing to her's, he held her close to his body. "Gavin..."

"Hm?"

"I did like you back then."

"What?" Too scared to turn, she stayed with her back turned.

"I had feelings for you. Strong ones. That last kiss you gave me was the first and last time I felt truly loved by another human being. You felt so right but at the same time so wrong. I couldn't do it because I was scared to love you. Your witty remarks and your addicting kisses made me feel so great and you took such good care of me during sex that I didn't know who you were." Laughing to herself a little, she yawned, "Honestly, I'm still scared to love you. I mean, we live together now and everything came back so suddenly..."

"Y/n?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I kiss you?" Turning around, she came face to face with a breathless Gavin. His cheeks were flushed and his heart was pounding against his ribcage. "I can't keep pretending like I don't want to hold you like this every night and wake up every morning to your perfect fucking face. You're the only person I've ever met that I want to be around constantly. You never seem to falter with me. I want to be yours."

"Gavin..."

"Please, Y/n." Holding her chin with his calloused fingers, he felt his body go fuzzy when he stared and took in every single feature up close, "One kiss. I need to feel your lips on mine one more time and then we can go back to the way things were."

"O-Okay." Holding her as gently as possible, he leaned in carefully. Feeling his lips connect with her own, he nearly folded. His hand trailed to the small of her back, pulling her closer as he moved his lips against hers. Feeling the pressure from her lips as she kissed back, he realised how addictive her lips truly were.

He pulled away first, slowly as if he didn't want to. "We should sleep."

"O-Okay..."

Planting a soft kiss on her forehead, he smiled before letting her turn around, "Good night, Y/n."

"Sleep well, Gavin."
