Family Video Store - 1986

It was a slow Wednesday afternoon in the video store. Robin and Steve were just daydreaming about stuff they could be doing instead of being in a stuffy place with no customers. They both wanted to go hang out with Dustin and the others.

But, they couldn't just leave work. "Hey, dingus. I'm going to the back for lunch. Are you going to join or are you going to stay here and watch out for no customers?" She told him sternly and boredom, "I'm just going to stay here, I was in a rush and forgot my lunch anyway." He confessed. "You idiot," Robin muttered under her breath.

Steve didn't get that much sleep last night. Ever since The Mind Flayer and Vecna and just everything... He knew they defeated them. Yet, the nightmares never ended. He also wondered a lot about Eddie. On how he was doing. His worst memory was when Vecna had him. Steve was charged with some electric force and damaged Vecna badly. At least that was an advantage.

During the whole Vecna thing happened..Steve and Eddie had these moments. But, Steve won't admit it to anyone. Steve felt electricity in him that night. He was so happy Eddie was alive. Even if Steve doesn't want to admit it, Eddie saved him too.

And those moments they had. They felt genuine. Real. But, Steve keeps shrugging it off. Plus, he hasn't seen Eddie since the whole thing anyway. It's been 5 months...yet Steve doesn't know why Eddie keeps lingering in his mind.

Eddie was a freak, anyways. He was always with kids younger than him and plays children's games. Steve thought to himself, "Am I a freak? Maybe being a freak isn't a bad thing." He thought while smiling and blushing.

Robin walked in on Steve smiling. "Yo, why are you so happy?" She asked with confusion. "Uh, ahem. No reason." Steve confessed while walking out of his trance. "Okay. Whatever." Robin muttered back with confusion.

*rings* the door chimes and walks in Eddie himself. Wearing his casual hellfire shirt with black jeans and his jacket with chains everywhere. But, Steve tried to look in a different direction for unknown reasons. "Hey, Ed. How have you been?" Robin greeted him with a handshake and a nice smile.

"Hey, Robin. Hey, Steve how is it been?" Eddie asked him with his usual grin while looking into Steve like he is some statue. "Uh, ahem. I have been doing fine. I guess."

Steve said kind of flustered and trying to look somewhere else.

Steve didn't know why he was feeling these things. He knew he wasn't gay. And they were just friends.
