26-I Mean It ~ Steddie

It was closing time at Family Video Store and he closed the place up. Eddie was outside leaning against his shitty car smoking a cigarette. He then threw the cigarette on the ground and stomped on it.

Eddie moved outta the way cause he knows Steve likes to drive, plus they both don't trust Eddie to drive.

Eddie saw Steve and he seemed fine. Great even, yet not everything was the same.

Steve and Eddie grew closer over time, but Eddie has noticed a few things about Steve that aren't the same.

A few days ago they were all at the arcade. You know just like old times before the chaos. Then this little kid fell right next to Steve and Steve just looked at him and walked away. Steve is never like that.

He always helps a kid in need. Instead, Eddie went over and helped the kid. The kid thanked him and everything.

Eddie just studied Steve like a book. He then thought back to when Steve asked him, "What if I'm broken?"

That sentence replayed in Eddies' mind quite often. He knows Steve isn't broken, but maybe he is a bit damaged and traumatized by everything.

Eddie decided to do something that might cheer him up.

"So, Harrington? Do you want to watch that movie I picked out?"

Steve focused on the road and came to a stop and pulled over.

"Uh, yeah. Sure." Steve announced with a damaged smile.

"Harrington we don't have to, you can just fall asleep." Eddie insisted, his eyes were like a deep pool just filled with heart eyes for him.

Steve tiredly looked at him. Steve cupped Eddies' face and said, "You are the most amazing person, Munson. I couldn't be happier with you."

Eddie was in shock. No one has ever said that to him before. Eddie almost teared up but, didn't.

He just smiled and replied, "Yeah, right."

Steve uncupped his face and started the car up again.

Before he started driving he just stared into the metalheads' eyes.

"I mean it, Munson."

The silly metalhead felt like he was about to melt. He loves this idiot so much.
