"Scarlett! come here." My mother's voice echoed off the walls of the Institute.
"Yes mom!" I called back.
I began to walk to her and my fathers study. Yup, I was the daughter of the famous Clary, and Jace Herondale. Back when they were my age they saved all the Shadowhunters, from my mother's brother Sebastian.
When I told people who my parents were, they would always gasp or something weird like that. I loved that my parents were famous, but sometimes it wasn't all that great.
I walked into the study, where my mother was sitting at her desk sorting through papers.
"Hey mom." I said and she looked up at me with a smile.
"Hey honey. Do you know where Logan is?" She asked a bit nervously.
Logan was my older brother. He was a ladies man, and he was also very mischievous. My mother says that he was like my father. Logan loves to bug me, and I hate it.
"Who knows what he does." I said while rolling my eyes.
"He's in the training room with dad." Said Austin who had been walking by.
Austin was my twin brother, and I liked him way more than Logan. Unlike Logan, Austin was sweet and he didn't bug me like Logan did.
"Can you get go them for me? Aunt Isabelle and Uncle Simon are going to be here." My mother said.
I felt myself getting excited, that meant Alexa would be coming as well. Alexa was my Parabatai. She was also Aunt Izzy and Uncle Simon's daughter.
Ten minutes later my father, my mother, Austin, Logan, and I were all sitting in the living room. Logan would not stop going on about how he had beaten my father today while training.
"Okay Logan we get it." I said while rolling my eyes.
He green eyes narrowed as he looked at me. "At least I can actually hold a sword Scarlett."
"Oh please, we both know that I'm a better fighter than you." I said defiantly.
"Ok that's enough, both of you." My father cut in.
Just then the door bell rang, and I leaped up.
"I'll get it!" I exclaimed.
I walked over to the door, and I was immediately smothered by Alexa.
"Scarlett!!" She exclaimed as she hugged me, and I hugged her back.
I then hugged Aunt Isabelle and Uncle Simon. I attempted to hug Max, but he was too busy reading his book. We all sat down and my mother started to talk.
"Have you told them yet Izzy?" She asked.
"Not yet. Have you?" Aunt Isabelle asked.
"No, we wanted to see if you had." My mother chuckled.
"Tell us what?" Alexa asked from beside me.
"We're going back to the past." My father said.
"What?!" Logan said shocked.
"Why?" I asked.
"Before you all were born." Uncle Simon started. "Our ancestors came here twice to come to see us. We thought it'd be nice to go back and see them."
"Are Uncle Magnus, and Uncle Alec coming with us?" Max asked, taking a break from his book.
"No their on vacation." Aunt Isabelle said.
"How are we going to get there?" Logan asked.
"I will make a portal, but I will need your help Austin." My mother said.
"Okay." Austin said.
It was so unfair, Austin got my mothers powers instead of me. I was so jealous, but he knew that.
An hour later we all stood in front of the portal, with our bags. Max and Logan went first, and then it was my turn. I took a deep breath and stepped through the portal.
