... Hey, guys... I know I've been gone for way longer than I ever planned on, but I haven't been in the best state of mind for a while ever since my best friend left with her abusive bf. I've never completely stopped writing, but I haven't had nearly enough motivation. I think I'm starting to get better now, but only time will tell. Anyway, I know I said that this would be another special chapter of Emi facing her past schoolmates, but I think I'll move more into season 2. So... enjoy my upgraded writing style~

The pile of papers I previously held landed on my desk with a thud, a flopping sound sounding a moment after when I sat down on my chair. To say I was exhausted was an understatement.  I had spent the last few hours going from animal to animal, one side of the city to the other, just to get as much info as I could, and even contract different animals to act as our invisible eye in exchange for bread, home upgrades, and other things.

"What's all this for?" Kenji inquired.

"I got all the info on the guild as I could. Everything from their names, to how much they weigh, and even to almost all of their abilities."

"That's great, Emi!" Tanizaki exclaimed. "Have you given it to the director yet?"

"Yep, already gave him a copy," I replied as I got into my snack drawer and grabbed some Nerds and cotton candy. "Could you pass these around for me?"

I handed him the papers and he passed them around to everyone, including the office workers.

"Anyone know where A-"

"Emi, Kenji," Doppo interrupted me with a serious tone. "Kyoka and Atsushi may be in trouble."

Without so much as a second of hesitation, the three of us left for the park where Kyoka received a call.

"Emi! Fly ahead, see what's happening!" Doppo instructed.

"On it!" I yelled, turning into a peregrine falcon right after. I soared ahead, keeping an eye out for the duo. Oh, shit. I finally spotted them, but they weren't alone. Clad in her usual pink and red spider lily kimono was none other than Kouyou Ozaki. During my time in the mafia, I never got to see her more than once, but I'll admit the one time I did see her, I thought she was beautiful. Snapping out of my thoughts, I started diving straight at Kouyou, waiting until the last possible moment to switch to a Harpy Eagle. My large talons clanged against the metal of her katana as Golden Demon and Demon Snow were exchanging blows. Her sword harmlessly slid off of my talons before going in for a parry. With a quick flap of my wings, I dodged it and turned back to normal, a small smirk plastered on my face.

"Emi," she said with her eyes dulling a shade.

"Kouyou," I echoed, my eyes glinting with anticipation as multiple Port Mafia cars pulled up and a decent amount of men stood behind her, guns aimed at Atsushi and I.

"Watch your heads, please!" I heard Kenji shout. Quickly, I got out of the way, landing next to the bleeding silver-haired boy as one of their cars landed, causing them to scatter. "Hehehe, it flew so far!"

"Took you guys long enough," I said as Doppo and Kenji got to us.

"Are you okay?" Doppo asked Atsushi, who had managed to sit up.

"Mr. Kunikida... why are you here?" Atsushi asked.

"I made some adjustments to Kyoka's phone. It notifies me when someone tries to call it. Now, get up," he explained, lifting him up by the side of his collar. "Why are you acting like a damsel in distress? You're a weretiger, grow some wereballs."

"Agency vermin!" Kouyou exclaimed. "Do not shine more of your toxic light on Kyoka!"

"Well," I snapped my head to the new voice and silently cursed, "isn't this just great timing?" John Steinbeck. One of the three members I don't know the ability of yet. Next to him was H.P. Lovecraft who of I had only his name. I virtually knew nothing about him, except that he's been with the Guild for 4 years. "It's like the split second before a collision. If we had come a little bit later, we woulda had it easy. You still want in?"
