After just a few moments, I caught up to the two boys.

"You know what your problem is? You're too obsessed with the kill to look even two feet ahead of you! It's no wonder that Dazai up and left you without a word!" Atsushi exclaimed.

Out of shock, I stopped right at the small tunnel's exit. Did he actually just say that? Damn, that boy knows how to piss Aku off.

"Yes, you're right," Aku responded after a moment of deafening silence. Then, he turned away and began walking deeper into the tunnel.

Mentally sighing, I exited the hole as Atsushi started to follow after Aku.

"You really have a way with words, don't you?" I quietly chuckled after changing back to my regular form.

Atsushi startled a bit before relaxing again. "Yeah, it seems to be a hidden talent," he sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"I had fun with it back in school," I sniggered, earning a questioning glance from him. "I'll tell you after all this." I turned my attention to where Akutagawa was walking and spotted a sensor on the ceiling ahead. "Hey, Aku, there's a sensor up there."

As soon as we stopped, voices came from around the corner behind us. Two adult men from the sounds of it.

"Bear and deer," I said as Akutagawa walked past us.

As expected, a larger man along with another with an average build came from around the corner. "Rashoumon," he muttered before restraining them.

"Don't kill them!" Atsushi exclaimed.

"That's up to them." He took a couple steps closer to the pair as they struggled. "Listen. Raise your voice without my permission, and I kill you. Got it?" he asked, to which they hastily nodded.

At least he doesn't kill without thought like he used to.

"Hey, 48, 49, your vital signs are slightly elevated," their radios buzzed. "Is something wrong?"

"Speak. But bear in mind that your lives are terribly cheap," Akutagawa said before unwrapping their mouths.

"48 here," the larger man stuttered, "it's nothing. Just a big snake, it ran away."

"Are you sure it was the snake that ran away? It wasn't you? Work for your money," the voice said before the radio flipped off.

"Next, mute your microphones," Akutagawa demanded, looking as intimidating as ever.

"Don't resist, he's that black dog..." the same man muttered to his partner.

"I thought that was a fairy tale..."

He's that much of a legend? I mentally chuckled.

"Where is your employer?"

"We don't know... we're just here for the money," the first guy answered.

"Shall I begin with your ears?" he asked as he positioned part of his ability above the guy's ear.

"Are you trying to make the other personnel suspicious?" I sighed.

"What was that?" he growled, glaring back at me.

"Threatening them like that will spike their heart rates again," I simply stated as I ducked under a piece of his cloak, being in between him and the pair now. "Now," I began with a bit of a devious grin, "are you sure?" I asked, showing my now very sharp teeth, that I based off an orca's.

"I-I swear!" he exclaimed after a hard swallow. "I don't even know what this facility is, let alone what the boss looks like."

My smile dropped as I looked into his eyes for any inkling that he was lying.
