I'm sitting upside down on the couch bored out of my mind since Doppo was out teaching. I just graduated high school two weeks ago, and I haven't had anything to do at all.
'What if I join the Port Mafia? It won't be that hard since I know a bunch of stuff that they wouldn't want getting out... Why not?' I thought with a shrug before getting up and going to my room. I grabbed my backpack and packed it with the necessary things that I would need. Then I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote Doppo a note.
'Hey, Doppo, I'm going out for a while. There's nothing really to do here since I don't have school anymore and I'll be exploring. Don't worry, I've got someone trustworthy to live with. Don't know how long I'll be gone, a year or two maybe? I don't know, I won't be doing anything too dangerous though. Well, love ya, bro. Don't worry too much.
~With lots of love and boredom, Emi.'
I nodded to myself, satisfied with it, before putting it on the kitchen table and leaving. On the way out, I locked the door and then hid the keys in a secret pocket that I had made in my bookbag.
I walked the streets of Yokohama for a couple of hours until I found the alleyway I was looking for. I smiled to myself and went into the suspicious alley. A little way into it there was a glowing sign that read 'Bar Lupin'.
I walked in and right soon after, a man with bandages, a black trench coat, and brown fluffy hair looked towards me before turning back around, uninterested. I took a seat at the barstool at the far left before putting my bag in the chair next to mine.
"You're Osamu Dazai, correct?" I asked as I turned over to him with a smile.
He immediately pulled a pistol out and aimed it right at my head. "Who are you?" His voice sounded dead and matched perfectly with his dulled eyes.
Despite my situation, I kept smiling. "My name's Emi and I was wanting to join the Port Mafia."
"What other dealings have you been in?" He kept the gun at my head.
"None. I just got really bored today and set out to look for you. And, as I thought, you were alone."
"How do you know that I don't come here alone?"
"I have my ways. You're usually here with Ango Sakaguchi and Oda Sakunosuke."
The door then opened, making Dazai look over to see who it was.
"Dazai, what are you-" the red-haired man stopped in his tracks when he saw Dazai holding a gun to my head.
"Hello, Oda Sakunosuke," I added a little wave.
"Who's she?" he asked Dazai.
"She said that she wants to join the mafia," Dazai told him, still not budging. "What do you think, Odasaku?"
"Well, I'd lower the gun. It's obvious that she isn't affected by it." Dazai did as he said and lowered it, but didn't put it away. Then Oda sat on the stool by my bookbag. "Now, who are you and why do you want to join?"
"My name is Emi. And I want to join due to sheer boredom."
"How old are you?"
"13 years old. I already graduated high school two weeks ago." Both of their eyes widened with surprise. "I have unnaturally high IQ for my age, so I got to skip a few grades," I explained.
"Why would someone with such a bright future ahead even want to join an organization that would worry that chance?"
"I can't even fathom how boring it would be to get some normal, boring job. I hate being bored and doing the same thing day after day would just kill me. Whereas in the Port Mafia, there are many varieties of jobs. And believe it or not, I am a lot like you two."
