~Hey guys! I decided to do a drawing of Shiro, so here is my favorite crow.
She was just randomly made a few nights ago because I got bored when I was supposed to be doing homework and I couldn't focus on it so... I decided to work on how Emi joined the mafia, but don't worry, I got my homework done later on. Anyway, you'll be finding out more about both Shiro and Emi when I get to The Dark Ages arc. Look forward to that. Well, back to the current story! Hope you guys enjoy:)~
Everyone in the office was cleaning up the mess that The Black Lizards had made. Well, except Rampo, but he was fine.
"Hey, Kunikida. I can't stay. I'm gonna head out on a job," Rampo said while hopping down from his desk.
"Oh, have you been called to help assist with a new murder case?" He asked.
"Yep. The police are always so desperate for my help. They can't capture a single criminal without me. The fact is, my 'Ultra Deduction' is the best ability in the agency. I'm sure it's the best power in the whole country. I'm not surprised that everyone depends on it."
"We're all indebted to you, Rampo."
"Good, as long as you're aware. It's funny that you all call yourselves a detective agency, you all have the deductive powers of a pack of monkeys. The only way you can investigate anything is thanks to my ability."
Then everyone started praising him.
"Hey, kid. Nevermind the cleanup here. You need to go with Rampo. You will travel by train," Doppo said to Atsushi.
"I-I'm gonna be a detective's assistant? That's a great responsibility," Atsushi said.
"Don't be silly. I'm not a two-bit detective who needs an assistant," Rampo said.
"Then why am I going with you?"
"I never bothered to learn how to take the train."
"Doppo~ I wanna go too~ I'm bored~," I said.
*Sigh* "You have a job that came in earlier, so you'll have to ride the train to the same area," He said.
"Is it the animal shelter or the veterinary clinic?"
"The shelter. They said that some of the animals seem to be having some problems."
"Alright. I'll see you later then."
The three of us then headed to the train and rode it to the stop that was near both of the jobs. On our way there, I sat next to Rampo, across from Atsushi while I played on my portable game device. I was playing a game of Chess against an AI that was on the hardest level of difficulty. By the time the train had stopped, I won the game with only my pawns being taken. After we exited the train station, we parted ways and I headed to the animal shelter. By the time I had gotten there I was a minute late. I walked in and went to the front desk.
"Hello, Emi. I'm so glad that you could make it." Kana, who worked the desk said.
"It's no hassle. You actually got me out of cleaning. So I'm glad the request came in," I said with a friendly smile.
"Another raid?" I nodded. *Sigh* "When will everyone learn that it's futile to even try?" She said while chuckling.
"Probably never. But, anyway, who is it that needs me this time?"
"It's Kine. He's been nervous around the other dogs." She said, referring to their Scottish Terrier.
"Alright. I'll head on back to him." I said before I walked into the back to the dog area. I looked around a bit and then spotted him alone in the back corner. I entered the gate and made my way back to him. "Hey, Kine, what's the matter? Kana said that you've been nervous around everyone." I asked him gently as I crouched next to him.
I talked to him and helped him the best that I could along with a few of the other animals. After an hour or two, I was done.
"Thanks again, Emi. We really appreciate it." Kana said as I was about to head to the train station.
"It's no problem. I'm glad to help. I'll see you next time," I said before I waved and headed out.
When I got outside I noticed that the sun was already setting. I walked to the road where I went another way from Atsushi and Rampo. Then I saw them along with Dazai. I was walking in front along with Ranpo.
"Officer Sugimoto?" I asked, referring to his case.
"Yep. He even tried to cover it up by saying it was the mafia."
"But the mafia would never change up how they kill someone in that sort of situation."
"Even though you yourself had never done it."
"Mhm," I hummed while nodding.
After a moment Atsushi and Dazai stopped walking and Rampo and I walked ahead some more until Rampo stopped and turned around and said, "Somebody's not doing their job! You're supposed to help me find my way back to the agency!"
Then we started heading back finally.
A/N- Okay, so I know that this is a little short and is pretty much a filler chapter, but, I wanted to show the side of Emi that was more caring than usual. And since Rampo, Dazai, and Atsushi's mottos were told in this episode, I'll give you guys her motto. "Life is boring if you don't challenge yourself and others." Anyway, next chapter should be longer. Hope you guys enjoy! Bye-bye:)~
