Dumb Rat

As time went by, I muted my communication device so I could focus. The time was drawing near, and I still hadn't managed to get into the system.

My screen suddenly went to black when I had entered another code. Then, a purple rat head appeared. "Fucker!" I exclaimed as I electrocuted it with an electric eels ability. I slammed my hand on the keyboard, shattering it and getting bits stuck in my hand. "That demon rat bastard..." I hissed before throwing the broken laptop at the wall.

I took a few deep breathes, in attempt to calm myself down before my phone rang.

"Green's Garden, we grow 'em, you smoke 'em."

"Oh... uh, sorry, I must have the wrong number."

"Oh, hey, Sushi. What's up?"

A couple of days went by since the incident and we could finally get back to work. Well, after Kyoka's acceptance party, that is.

The door finally opened and we all set off the party poppers one after another. "One, two."

"Congratulations! Welcome to the Agency!" we all said in unison before grabbing drinks, mine being some soda. "Cheers!" (I still can't get over that Kenji has a whole tomato...)

We all drank and ate to our heart's content while Doppo gave Atsushi a short lecture before praising them.

"Hey, Emi, what happened to your hand?" Naomi asked as Tanizaki was trying to get Atsushi to talk.

"Oh, this?" I held up my left hand that was covered with bandages. "I broke my laptop after it got hacked into."

"Oh, really? How did that happen?"

"My guess is someone already hacked into their system and when I got in it spread to mine," I shrugged.

"Oh, Ranpo.... I brought over the new piece you asked about over the phone..." Poe nervously called from the slightly ajar door.

*Ding*

"Food's done!" I exclaimed as I went to the kitchen and pulled out a whole ham, courtesy of Kenji. I got it ready and took it to the main room before fixing two big plates and a small one. "Heeeello!" I greeted, startling Poe, who was sitting in our guest area. "Care for some ham? It's organic, straight from Kenji's village."

"Oh, umm, uh, I- uh," he stuttered.

"We would love some," Karl answered.

"Alright, here you go," I said as I set the plates in front of them before taking a seat across from them.

Karl jumped off of his head and started eating his food, complimenting on how good it tasted while Poe hesitated at first. When he did get a bite, his eyes lit up. "This is delicious!"

"Thanks. So, are you staying for the party?" I asked as I crunched into the bone.

"Oh, uh, no... I just came by to deliver Ranpo my newest book."

"Oh, yeah, you write mystery novels, right?" He nodded. "I'd love to read one sometime."

"Alright, I'll bring one by sometime."

A little bit went by before Karl ran off to the others, jumping straight into Kyoka's arms. This is just too cute, I thought before taking a picture.

~Yay, done with season 2! I have no clue when the next chapter will be because I have both work and babysitting now, but I'll try to get it up soon. Now, obviously, there won't be anything on Dazai and Chuuya's meeting. Oh! And my BEAST book is coming along well, a little slow, but it's going good.
