"So I'll just take this side and you'll take the other?" you suggested awkwardly.

"That works for me." you both got in, facing away from each other the whole time, a healthy foot apart. You knew that this shouldn't be weird... But it felt weird.

"Goodnight." you blew out the oil lamp.

"Goodnight," Otto responded, and you dozed off to sleep.

"I can't believe that we finally found it," you muttered, holding up the ancient tablet made of Jade, Gwen looked at you worriedly.

"We need to get out of here, the locals told us-"

"Just think about the possibilities! Once I translate this-" you were cut off by a bone-chilling screech, you turned to look at Gwen, who was staring back at you.
"You didn't listen to me..." she whispered, her eyes started to leak blood, and you froze.

"I-I didn't think-" you stammered.

"YOU DIDN'T LISTEN TO ME! YOU KILLED ME!" Gwen screeched lunging at you.

"NO, NO!" you fought against her, her teeth plunged into your neck and you couldn't breathe, you gurgled something, but it didn't come out.
"You're a monster," Gwen muttered, she took out a knife and raised it over your stomach, you screamed.

"Y/N? Y/N?!" Otto shook you awake, you got out of bed, screaming and waving your knife around.

"WHERE IS SHE?" You screamed, your hand shaking.
"There's nobody else in here, put the knife down." Otto held his hands up, looking at you worriedly.

You touched your neck, there was no blood, you dropped the knife and slowly slid to the ground, curling into a ball. Otto got out of bed and put the knife on the other side of the room.

"Do you have any more weapons on you?" he asked.

You shook your head, you swore you could taste blood... There was so much blood. Otto sat next to you.

"I want to ask if you're alright... But I don't think that you are," he admitted.

"I'm not." you stammered.

"...Do you want to talk about it?" he asks.

"I saw my old partner, Gwen... We were doing our last expedition together and then..." you burst into tears, Otto wrapped you into a hug, you cried into his shirt, you knew that you shouldn't ask him to do this, to comfort you... but you needed it, and you needed a hug... You haven't been hugged in a long time.

"It's ok, it's going to be alright," Otto muttered.

"I d-don't know why the nightmares are back, I thought that they were over, but they're back and I don't know what to do," you explained.

"I don't know if this will solve it permanently, but a wise woman once told me to breathe in for three, and out for three," Otto suggested, you gave a small smile and took a shaky breath, you felt Otto's chest rise and fall with you, his heart beat steadily. You dozed back to sleep, Gwen didn't visit you again.

"And there I was, cornered by a horde of vampires-" you started.

"Vampires aren't real." a man objected.

"Then how did I take photos of them?" you asked.

"They've obviously been altered!"

"Photographs can't be altered." Otto pointed out.

"My father was taken by vampires, I saw it with my own eyes." a man spoke up.

"See?" you gestured.

"Fine, fine. So how the hell did you escape?"
