Otto's tentacles grabbed you before you hit the floor, Otto finally saw the tentacles and yelled, the tentacles drew back and you fell to the floor. "WHAT THE HELL?!" he stared at the glowing red tentacles, who gave a little wave at him. He screamed again and backed away. "Y-You get away from me! Do you hear? J-Just..." he stammered.
We're going to have fun... Dr. Octavius. A deep voice growled, and his eyes widened.
"W-Who's saying that?" He didn't get a response. "Who are you?" he demanded.
"...Idh'yaa." you muttered, staring at the terrifying creature that hovered over you, they were a huge, long... worm thing. You couldn't comprehend it, the few drawn artifacts that you had found were terrifying... but they didn't fully grasp the utter horror that their mere presence gave you.
"I'm glad that you're not as dull as my last host, he was no fun." their eyes blinked at you, you scrambled back. Their voice was... was horrific.
"W-Where are we?" you stammered, looking around at the black void that surrounded you.
"Your mind, of course... You have a lot of negative emotions, so worried, so anxious."
"Well you start feeling those things when you get kidnapped by a cult and get possessed by a god," you grumbled.
Idh'yaa laughed, and a shiver ran down your spine.
"So what are you going to do, kill me? Possess my dead body?" you asked.
"Oh, you wish! No, I'm not going to kill and possess you. Not yet... I need you to do something for me, once you complete that task, I'll kill you, you'll consider it an act of mercy." they sneered.
"...so are these eyes permanent? It's really disorienting I have no idea how-"
"You're funny Doctor, very funny... Yes, they're permanent. This is what is going to happen my dear." you gasped as you were lifted off from the ground, clawing at your neck. "You're going to do whatever my head priest tells you to, and you are going to enjoy it, do you understand me?"
"W-why would I do that?" you choked out.
"I'm being merciful at the moment Doctor... I could do worse to you, much... much worse." they snarled, their invisible chokehold on you tightened, and you gasped for air.
SNAP!
Idh'yaa was now sideways, you screamed out in pain, they snapped your god damn neck! "Now wake the hell up." they snarled.
You woke up, gasping for air, your hands hurriedly touched your neck, you were fine... It must have been a nightmare, that was the only- "AHH!" you screamed as the eyes on your hand blinked at you. It wasn't a dream... great.
"Who are you?!" Otto yelled at his tentacles, you stared at them, wide-eyed. No way... He turned around and spotted you. "Oh thank god you're alright!" he pulled you into a hug. "What... what's going on?" he breathed into your ear.
"I have no idea," you admitted, you heard him start to hyperventilate. "But we can't lose it, ok?"
"T-this was a mistake-" he stammered.
"Yes, yes it was."
"I-I can't do this, this is too-" you could tell that he was starting to lose it, you couldn't let that happen. For all you knew, those cult creeps were watching the two of you. And neither of you could afford seeming weak. "I CAN'T-"
SLAP!
He stumbled back, gripping his chin.
"S-Sorry." you apologized before continuing. "B-but we can't lose our shit Otto-"
"Y-you have eyes all-"
"I know that, and you have red tentacles sprouting out of your back. None of this makes sense, ok? We both know that, so we can't keep on bitching about it, we need to get out of here." you grabbed your satchel and swung open the door, the head priest/leader smiled at you.
"Ready so soon, holy one?" he asked.
"Get out of my way, we're leaving," you snarled.
"...Are you going to fight us on your destiny?" he asked.
"We could talk it out?" Otto's voice quavered, and you sighed.
"Do you want to talk it out?" you asked, drawing out your knife.
"Not particularly... No."
"Damn... Well- AUGH!" your hand dropped the knife, and it clattered harmlessly to the ground, it felt as if someone was pouring hot coals down your throat, you gasped for air, coughing.
"That was a warning dear." Idh'yaa cooed.
"Y/N!" Otto rushed to you, holding you up. "How dare- AHH!" Otto cried out in pain, collapsing to the ground. "N-No, no stop..." he wheezed.
"My masters, the preparations have been made, and the unity will happen, as you have both commanded." the leader kneeled at the two of your spasming bodies.
"Good... Your loyalty shall be rewarded." a deep voice boomed, you looked around, confused. "Idh'yaa, my love... You look terrifying." you looked at Otto, who was staring intensely at you, heat rushed to your cheeks as you looked down. "Look at me," it ordered, your face jerked up to stare into Otto's eyes.
"Cthulu... Oh, it has been so long my love," they said, nothing came out of either of your mouths. "I like these ones... don't you?"
"Yes, yes I like them... I cannot wait for the unification."
"W-what exactly is the unification?" you rasped, your throat still burned.
"You don't want to know dear... You don't want to know." Idh'yaa's voice echoed in your head.
"No, no I do want to know-" you started.
"I don't." Otto interrupted you, curled up in a ball.
"I do wish this one wasn't a coward," Cthulu grumbled.
"He is not a coward!" you snapped. "He just doesn't want to die!"
"That is inescapable." their voices said in unison, your blood ran cold.
