~Today was now the day before Seijoh entered the tournament.
Still no answer from the cheerleader.
The volleyball captain was sitting on the gym floor trying to tie his show but he was just spacing out. He had been sitting there for almost ten minutes.
The others were warming up and stretching, waiting for Oikawa so officially start practice.
"He hasn't been looking good these past two weeks. Did something happen with L/N?" Hanamaki whispered to Iwaizumi.
"She rejected him." Iwaizumi informed him.
"Huh!? Really!?" Mattsun intervened, "Someone really rejected our great Oikawa?!"
Iwaizumi sighed. Sure he was relieved when she told him that she rejected his friend but seeing Oikawa down made him feel bad.
He walked up to the upset boy and crouched down in front of him. He then raised his hand and started snapping, "Hey."
Oikawa blinked a few times before looking at him. Iwaizumi stopped snapping, "Are you okay?"
The captains eyes widened for a second before he just softly nodded his head.
"Okay. Cmon, we have to practice and we can't do it without our captain."
He walked away and Oikawa smiled for the first time in weeks.
It wasn't much from Iwaizumi.
But it was a start.
And he was just happy someone from that family started talking to him again.
Their practice finally began and even though he wasn't fully there yet, Oikawa was doing much better today.
While the players were taking a short break for water, the gym door slid open. Everyone turned their heads to find Iwaizumi's cousin standing there, smoothly sliding a strand of hair behind her ear.
She looked around for a bit until her eyes landed on a a certain player.
The boys watched her as she made her way across the room. It was as if they've never seen a girl before.
Oikawa watched as she walked right passed him. Not even a little glance. It almost felt like he wasn't even there to her.
She stopped in front of her cousin and crouched down so she was at eye level with him. He looked up from the ground and raised an eyebrow, "What?"
"Do you mind leaving practice early to walk me home? My mom doesn't want me going by myself so I'm asking you for her." Y/N explained.
"You don't wanna wait till I'm done?" He asked.
She shook her head, "I have a lot of homework to do and I don't want to start it late. Plus I haven't eaten all day and I'm hungry."
Iwaizumi looked at Oikawa and Oikawa nodded at him. He sighed, "Okay. Let me get changed real and then we'll go."
"Okay."
The ace grabbed his water bottle before standing up and making his way out, the girl trailing after him.
Once he was done changing, they began their way to her home. It was silent for a few minutes before he looked at the sky, "Your mom didn't ask me to walk you home, did she?"
She smiled, "How could you tell?"
"That's for me to know and for you to figure out. So, What's up?"
"I wanted to talk to you quickly before I lost my nerve."
