"Like, what the fuck is his deal, calling me princess" I say with a grimace " and why the fuck does he sound so goddarn smug when he says it. I certainly am NOT a princess and will never be and he seems to be just shoving it in my face even more. That little bit-"
I'm cut off with a slap on my shoulder. "You little bit-"
"Shut the fuck up will you?" Lily all but screams in my face succeeding in shutting me up from my ranting.
She has this really antagonising look on her face which makes me step back and fall onto my bed in defeat.
"You know, it's funny watching you get so riled up over one word. You're such a petty ass." She exclaims, with a knowing look on her face.
"Yeah well, it's annoying. I just wanted to wipe that stupid smirk off of his face."
"I bet you did." Lily wriggles her eyebrows at me and I look at her with a frown.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Oh nothing."
Whatever.
"Let's just watch a movie. I'm too tired to speak."I huff out, climbing further onto my bed and wrapping myself up in the blankets.
When we had got back from the cafe, I immediately stripped and changed into my green joggers and a baggy white top. The dried up tea was making me feel uncomfortable and I doubt the stain would come off, but at this point I don't really care. I then proceeded to nap for the rest of the day while Lily sat downstairs with my mum, chatting.
Yeah, making friends with my mother. Suck up. But my parents like her and It's better than having your siblings screaming in your ear all the time.
When I woke up, I was pissed.
Yeah, call me petty, but I can't help being annoyed at his tone. Anyway, I don't want to think about it anymore, so I just lean over Lily who plops herself down next to me, and grab my laptop from my bedside table.
Scrolling through Netflix, I press on Breaking Bad.
Me and Lily are obsessed with it. In fact, that was one of the things that made us so close. We used to always talk about it at lunch times and would never get bored. We're basically the same person with our unhealthy obsession over Lana Del Rey, Cillian Murphy and Christian Bale. Kinda creepy I know but I love it. Adding onto the fact that most of our day is spent either texting each other or tagging each other in TikToks.
I press play and we sit silently, enjoying our third time watching this infamous show.
The rest of the night passes by slowly as we sit there, me occasionally getting up to pray and Lilly getting us popcorn.
She ends up staying the night because of how late it is and we fall asleep within seconds of me shutting the laptop. School really does take it out of you in the long run.
It's now Sunday afternoon and Lily has gone home after waking up to a call from her mother screaming over the phone at her over the fact that she didn't text her where she was the night before. It was quite a funny exchange to be honest.
I am currently sitting at my desk which faces towards my open window, the sun finally deciding to grace us with it's presence as I sit studying the book we're reading for English Lit.
I don't really notice when a ball hits my window as I have my headphones in, but this time It's so loud I think it's going to break my fucking window.
Whoever the fuck that is is going to get a thrashing from me.
I get up from my desk chair, pushing it back behind me and lean over to the window so my head is sticking out.
In front of my house, we have a big patch of grass where people usually come to play football or something. We don't own it, so we can't stop anyone from using it since it's council land, but whoever does usually play there never hits a fucking ball at my window which means that these guys are amateurs.
Noticing they are guys, I pull myself back down and casually drape a hijab over my head.
Regaining my position against the window frame, I shout down to them.
"What the fuck dude. You nearly smashed my window in. Watch were you're playing because believe it or not, people do live here."
I zone in on a familiar face and my scowl deepens upon hearing that stupid name.
"Princess, how nice to see you again."
"What are you doing here?" I reply. I've never seen Jonas down this end before. I would have just thought he played down at the basketball courts all the time.
"Playing basketball?" he responds and I can practically hear that stupid smirk as he speaks.
I stick up my middle finger and lean back inside, ignoring his snarky remark.
For real though, what the hell was he doing down here. I mean I don't mind seeing that face but his annoying tone compensates for that.
I swear, if that ball hit-
" Fuck you, Jonas" I mumble to myself as I get up and tie my hair into a bun, pinning my hijab down so I don't look like a wonky granny, before stomping down the stairs ready to throw hands.
Before I even get the chance to shout again, I see the front door wide open and my mum standing on the front steps cursing all things bad with a wooden spoon in her hand.
She's scaring me now and I'm not even on the receiving end.
"Who are you? Can you watch where you throw that damn thing, or you'll have to pay for my new windows." She threatens, waving that weapon around in front of her.
I shiver, and walk up beside her putting a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry Umiji, I'll handle it I know this guy." She turns to look at me before nodding and she swivels around, heading inside the house and shutting the door behind her, annoyance written all over her face.
"I'm sorry ma'am." Jonas replies as he swallows before turning to look down at me making my way across to him with a glare pasted onto my face.
"I will throttle you if you so much as throw that basketball anywhere near here again. You do know that some people are trying to study around here without you and your stuck up ball wreaking havoc. Oh, and don't you dare say-"
"Princess, you look cute when you're angry." He interrupts my lecture with a grin on his face as he tries to suppress a laugh from escaping those damn lips.
"Stop calling me that." I point my finger at him trying to stop an imminent blush from spreading out over my cheeks. I can feel my neck get warm at his comment and in this moment, I am so glad at my scarf for covering it up.
"Calling you what? Princess? No I like it, it suits you." He nods his head in approval and his hair falls in front of his eyes at the movement, making him look even more attractive.
"I hate it." I furrow my eyebrows and turn to head back into the house when his voice stops me in my tracks.
"C'mon, I'm just joking. If you really want me to stop calling you that I will, is that good with you, princess." His grin only widens at my glowering face and he steps back with his hands raised on either side of his head. I can't stop my eyes from travelling to his upper arms as I see his muscles tense at the gesture.
I quickly look back up and reply with a curt "get lost" before walking back towards my house and before I shut the front door, I hear him say, "I'll take that as a no then, princess."
I stick my middle finger up in reply and slam the door shut.
