Eliza

I'm fucking five hours early.

I'm currently putting up streamers in Lily's living room as she blows up balloons. Today is the day of her party, and her birthday. She wanted me to come early to help her set up, and we decided to get ready together, so I just brought my outfit here so I don't have to keep running back home.

"So, who'd you invite." I asked her as I grabbed another green streamer, stepping back up on the chair again to stick it to the wall.

"Oh, you know just Sarah and a few girls from my classes. Plus some outside friends. There will be quite a few people, because my mum wanted to invite her friends too, so yeah. Oh, and some of my cousins will be coming too." She replied, tying up the clear balloon she had just blown up.

I hummed at her and stepped back from the chair, admiring my work. There were green and gold streamers, and white balloons with confetti inside them. Lily's mum had ordered a cake for her, but it hadn't arrived yet. All of the sofa's had been removed from the room and there was a long table in front of the wall with the streamers for all of the party food.

"Looks good babe. I can't wait for this, I'v been needing a party for a while. I think we all need to let loose for a while." She said as she stood next to me, admiring the room.

We hung a disco ball from the middle of the ceiling, and connected this star, LED light thing so it actually feels like a party.

"Yeah, I know right?" Whenever we have a get together at Lily's house, she never drinks, including her brothers and mum, just because I don't. I tried to tell her that she could because it's her birthday, but she insisted because she didn't want to make me feel uncomfortable.

That's why I love her. She never does things she thinks will make me feel out of place. Same goes with her family.

"Okay, I think everything is done, except for the cake. We can put all the food out about half an hour before the guests arrive, just so it stays fresh." I nod along to her, and then we walk upstairs and begin to get ready.

Actually, we sit on her bed for a full hour, scrolling on TikTok and talking about random shit, and then we get ready.

I stretch my legs and walk over to my dress that is hanging on her wardrobe door. I just stand there, looking at it, smiling to myself. I really love it.

Tying my hair up in a bun, I walk to the bathroom and wash my face, making sure I have my Wudhu so my makeup doesn't get ruined.

Lily's brothers aren't here at the moment, so I can walk around the house with my hijab off. It still feels a bit weird, but I'm comfortable with it.

I walk back into the bedroom and begin to change as Lily walks out and freshens up.

We both get ready, and she sits in front of the mirror, putting on her makeup, while I just brush some mascara and pencil eyeliner on.

I prefer not to wear too much makeup, because in the past when I'v had on a full face, I end up looking worse than when I don't have makeup on.

It kind of has the opposite effect on me.

Random I know.

i put on my hijab, pinning it up and when we're both done, we take a few pictures together.

Lily is wearing this amazing red two piece skirt and sweater which looks amazing on here, like always.
