I had no clue. I didn't think at all, and now she's pissed at me.

I don't know what the fuck is happening, but I never intended for this to go the way it did.

Hell, I hardly know her, and she's stuck in my thoughts day in and day out.

I need to know her.

I want to.

Without thinking, I pull out my phone and I search for her name in my instagram DM's. I smile at the last message she sent me. I hadn't texted her back because I didn't know what to say, and I was, for once, lost for words. And over a damn text message too. What the fuck was getting into me? I usually had a comeback and response for everything, but this time it was different. She stunned me, and I can't do anything about it. Not even give her the decency of replying.

I start typing out a message. I want her to know how sorry I am, but then I pause, again at a loss for words on what to say. Maybe texting her isn't the right way to do it. Yeah, I needed to talk to her face to face.

I leave the chat and search for another name, hurriedly pressing on the icon and typing a quick message.

I need to talk to Eliza. Can you set up a meet at the Cafe? She won't talk to me.

I send the message and sit staring at my phone impatiently, waiting for a reply.

                                                                                                               Why, what happened?

I'll explain when we meet up. Please?

The only thing I can do now is hope that Lily will get Eliza to come to the Cafe to speak to me. I can't just stand around idly doing nothing. I needed to show her, for real, how sorry I am.

Let's just hope I can find the right words.

Eliza

A ping resonates through my ears as I sit at my desk, daydreaming whilst looking out of my window at the sunset.

Lily had called me earlier and I had told her everything that had happened at the shops. I know it sounds petty, but the fact that he didn't think that pulling my hijab off my head wouldn't be a big deal still causes anger to flare up inside of me. I guess it just shows the respect he has for me, and all Muslim women for that matter.

I looked down at my phone and see a message from Lily telling me to meet her at the Cafe for a hot drink. She knows that all I need right now is tea, and I text her back, telling her I'll be around in 10.

I get up off of the desk chair and tuck my phone in my back pocket, sliding my scarf hat over my head and pinning up my hijab so it doesn't blow in the soft breeze. I can't risk it falling off.

I put my shoes on and tie my laces before grabbing my jacket and walking downstairs.

"Salaam Umiji, I'm just going to the Cafe to meet Lily for a drink. I'll text you when I'm on my way home?"

She nods and just assures me to stay safe and stick on the main roads before I step out of the house and make my way down the front drive.

I pull my phone out and send a quick text to lily, assuring her that I'm on my way.

I manage to get to the Cafe in under five minutes, as it's so close to school and I don't live that far away from it.

I open the doors and greet the cozy atmosphere, grazing my eyes over the mostly empty seating space, trying to find Lily.
