Guys, I just want to thank you all so much, again, for the support and love on this book. When I first started writing it, it was so slow and I never imagined it getting this popular, and then I posted a tiktok and it fucking blew up overnight and now all of ya'll are here and I couldn't be more thankful. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, and thank you to those who are defending me in the comments. I know some of my chapters are controversial, but It's all deliberate, and it's all part of Eliza's test and character development. IT'S ALSO JUST A FUCKING STORY, so please keep your disappointment to yourselves because this is Wattpad, and there will never be anything remotely one hundred percent halal on here. I HOPE YOU ENJOY BABES <3
P.S, follow my instagram, because there will be updates on a surprise coming soon. xx
Eliza
The sound of the doorbell ringing breaks me out of my intense pacing around the living room. It's the day of the engagement and I'm so nervous I think I might faint, and the only thing keeping me sane right now is the thought of finally being with Jonas.
I hear a laugh and some chattering before I see a blonde head in the doorway of the living room. She has familiar blue eyes and a very big smile on her face as she sees me. I begin to walk towards her, my hand held out in greeting, but she grabs me and I'm pulled into a fierce hug.
"So you're the beautiful girl my son has fallen in love with." Her voice is slightly muffled by my shoulder, and she squeezes me one last time before letting go and stepping back slightly. Her hands are still on my shoulders and she's taking me in. I laugh lightly in response and then she's pulling me back into another hug.
It feels so good to be hugged like this, and it makes me more confident and comfortable about today.
"I'm so happy for you, and I give you both my blessing." She pulls away again and looks at me with so much love that I can't stop smiling. "Thank you so much. You don't know how much that means to me Mrs Andris." I say, feeling my heart expand. "Please, call me Lilian." I nod and turn my head to where a little girl stands in the doorway. She has Jonas' dark hair, but her eyes are brown and wide as she stares up at me.
Lilian grabs her hand and softly pulls her towards me and I bend down, grasping her tiny hands in my own. "And who might you be?" I ask, and she shy's away behind Lilians legs, a faint blush covering her cheeks as she stares up at me. "This is my daughter, Chloe. She's been dying to meet you, and now she's all nervous." Lilian laughs and picks Chloe up. She hides her face in the crook of her mothers neck and I ruffle her hair a bit. She's so fucking adorable.
I move to the side and gesture for them to sit down on the sofa's in front of the coffee table that's been set up with tea and cakes.
The only people who will be attending this engagement is my parents, siblings and Jonas's mother and sister. It avoids stress and unnecessary viewers which I don't want.
I help them get settled down and turn towards my mum. "Are you ready? When will Jonas be here?" She asks. "I'm ready. Where's everyone else, you can tell them to come in now. Jonas should be here in a few minutes." Jonas had come to my house earlier in the morning to help set up, and then he left to run an errand. He texted me five minutes ago saying he's around the corner and that we should get started.
I'm nervous all over again.
My dad appears and him and Lilian strike up a conversation immediately. Harris and Sofia make their way into the living room and sit down. I haven't really spoken to them about all of this properly, and I know that they're shocked about everything.
I literally have to force my mum to sit down, otherwise she would just be hovering around, making me more nervous.
When the doorbell rings, I hurry to open it, and my heart beats out of my chest when I take in the man in front of me.
He's wearing a dark grey suit, fitted so perfectly to his body that I almost faint for the second time today. His hands are casually in his pockets, and he's looking at me like he wants to devour me. I bet the same exact expression is on my face, because he smiles that goddarn melting smile and steps into the house.
He's still looking at me like he wants to ravage me, and I feel my cheeks heat up from his stare. "You look beautiful, Eliza. God, I can't wait to marry you." He closes his eyes for a second, like he's trying to imagine marrying me, and I only feel myself get warmer.
"Thank you." My voice comes out quiet, and I glance up at him one more time before waving him along to the living room where a steady stream of chatter ensues.
As soon as we enter, everybody stops talking and smiles at us. I swear my mum looks like she's about to cry, but I give her a reassuring smile and take a seat on the empty chair, Jonas following and sitting next to my dad. Chloe runs up to him and hugs him, and I nearly melt at the sight before me. Everyone lets out laughs at the gesture and then Chloe runs back to her mum, her cheeks a bright red.
I can't get over how cute she is. Just like her brother.
Jonas
I can't keep my eyes off of Eliza, sitting there looking so carelessly gorgeous like always. I'm trying to act calm and collected, but my insides are on fire, and there's a whole fucking zoo running rampage inside me.
My heart feels like it's beating at an unimaginable tempo, and the only thing calming me is Eliza. She's laughing away at something her brother said, and I let her laugh ring throughout my ears as I stare at her.
She is officially my Fiancee.
We exchanged the formalities about half an hour ago, and now there's a green engagement ring on her left ring finger. She keeps looking down to it like it's not real, and I always catch her blush when she fiddles with it.
I have a matching ring, black with a thin green band in the middle. I wanted to match with her, because I know how much she loves green.
I just can't fucking wait to be her husband.
All mine.
She catches my eyes from across the room, and her smile is so big I nearly fall out of my chair. Everything feels so surreal and beautiful and I just want to pick her up and never let her go.
I plan on it, after we're married.
Our families sit talking about wedding plans, and apparently Eliza's dad has already booked out the Imam in the local mosque for two weeks time. TWO FUCKING WEEKS. I would marry her right here right now if I could, but I know we can't rush things too much.
I'm so overwhelmed with the thought that she's going to be my wife, that I don't process realise everyone has already left the room to the kitchen for dinner.
It's only me and Eliza now, and she's walking up to me with that grin on her face.
"How are you feeling, Fiancee?" She says, and her voice sounds so angelic as she speaks. That word coming out of her mouth makes my insides flip, and my smile grows tenfold.
"Two weeks is too long. I want you now." I say. I don't bother sugarcoating it, because it's the truth. I'v wanted her for as long as I can remember, and nothing is going to stop me from being with her.
She laughs that goddamn heavenly laugh of hers, her head tilted back a bit and her eyes closed, preventing me from seeing her dark chocolate eyes.
Fuck, she has no idea of the effect she has on me, at all, and it makes me love her so much more.
"Well, I guess you'll just have to be patient for a bit longer. At least we son't have to wait years." That fucking smart mouth of hers. I swear she's got it coming on our wedding night.
If I had to wait any longer than two weeks, I'd probably die.
"I swear, you and cockiness." I shake my head slightly and run my hands through my hair.
She's looking at me like she's hungry, and I have to restrain myself from touching her. It's been getting harder over the past few days, and she's making it worse with the way she looks at me.
God, she's going to be the death of me.
WELL, FUCK ME
