The next day, Hermione and I got up, our eyes red from all the crying last night. We were feeling quite sick, and didn't feel like getting out of bed.
"We have to get up." Hermione said to me. "We'd get in trouble if we don't."
"Could we at least take the day off in the hospital wing or something?" I mumbled back to her, rubbing my eyes, trying to get rid of the redness.
Hermione sighed and shook her head, telling me no.
"Either way, great night, huh?" She said sarcastically.
"Best night of my life." I replied in the same sarcastic tone. "What was up with Ron? What did he say?" I asked her, concerned.
"He said that Viktor was using me, and that he doesn't care about me!" Hermione said, sounding upset all over again. "What happened with you and Malfoy?"
Tears filled my eyes again. I was getting pretty sick of crying over him, but I still couldn't help it.
"I took Harry to show him where Malfoy was and-"
"Oh no, you called him Malfoy what did he do?" Hermione moaned.
"Pansy Parkinson had him pinned up against the wall, and they were nearly kissing!" I blurted out, tears falling from my eyes again.
Hermione looked so shocked.
"Parkinson?!" She yelled angrily. "Oh I hate that brat! Malfoy is such a jerk!"
She gave me a comforting hug as I wiped my tears away. I sighed.
"Let's just get ready." I said reluctantly to her, and we both got up and put our Hogwarts uniforms on.
We got into the Gryffindor common room, and found Ginny sitting with Harry and Ron all on the couch in their uniforms, their books on the floor next to their feet. They all looked up at Hermione and me when we walked in. Nobody said anything at the start. Probably because Ron, Harry and Ginny were staring at our red swollen eyes.
"Sure looks like you two had fun last night." Ginny said to us sarcastically.
We don't know why, but we all just burst out laughing. We were probably tired from staying up late and getting hurt last night. Ginny was the only one who seemed a tiny bit OK, but she was the one that went to bed the latest, so she didn't have that much of a difference.
We all went down to the hallway and said goodbye to Ginny as she left for her first class. Harry, Ron, Hermione and I went to our first class, Charms.
Everyone walked in, and I quickly got a seat next to Hermione before any of the teachers could say that I had to sit next to Malfoy. Harry and Ron were finally sitting together at the same desk after so much time- and they looked like they really enjoyed it!I put my books down and took out my wand out, turning the pages of my book to practice with Hermione before Professor Flitwick came back in. We were practicing with a small feather, like we did when we first came to Hogwarts.
"Wingardium Leviosa." Hermione said to it as it rose up into the air.
That was the first spell I'd ever learnt when i came to Hogwarts in the first year.
"Accio feather." I said to it.
It dashed towards me.
"Incendio!" Someone shouted, and the feather burnt up into pieces.
I furiously turned around in my seat and saw Blaise Zabini laughing his head off at us.
"Petrificus Totalus!" I said, pointing my wand at him, and he instantly froze up and fell back into the empty seat beside him.
I smiled smugly. Then suddenly, I saw Malfoy walking up to me. He stood beside me on my desk.
"Hannah," Malfoy started.
"Not interested Malfoy, go away." I said, not even looking at him, expressing the word Malfoy very clearly so that he understands that I've completely gotten over him.
Malfoy rolled his eyes.
"Hannah you have to listen to me, I'm trying to tell you what really happened last night! The truth!" He said to me.
"How can you lie to my face? Since when do you ever tell me anything? How can I believe you'd tell the truth if you haven't told me anything at all?!" I asked him angrily, getting up on my feet and looking up into his eyes furiously.
Hermione was watching cautiously, making sure Malfoy didn't do anything to me. Harry and Ron noticed that I was face to face with Malfoy and they turned their full attention towards us.
"Hannah-"
"Good morning class!" Professor Flitwick said, walking into the classroom, seeing everyone seated apart from Malfoy and me.
"Mr Malfoy, Miss Stark, please sit back down in your seats. We have a lot of work to get through today." He said to us.
Malfoy and I sat back down in our seats. I was still glaring angrily at him.
"Finite." I mumbled reluctantly, pointing my wand at Blaise and he got back to normal.
Professor Flitwick eyes the burned feather that was lying between me and Hermione. He looked at us for an explanation.
"Ask Zabini." I muttered back to him, looking down at my book.
Blaise glared back angrily at me, and I returned it. I've never been this angry in my life! I hate Malfoy and I hate Zabini. The person I hate the most? PARKINSON!!!!!! Thank goodness she's not in this class with us, or else I would've killed her by now or done a really bad spell on her which would probably get me into three months detention or something like that.
"Today, we're going to learn the charm to set things on fire! Now we have to be careful when we do this and-" Flitwick turned to look at Zabini. "I know that some of us can get out of control sometimes."
"You can say that again." I mumbled under my breath.
"Yeah." Hermione whispered back to me, agreeing and rolling her eyes at Zabini angrily.
She hated him so much too. After Charms class, I quickly gathered up my books and left with Hermione before Malfoy could follow. Hermione had trouble keeping up with me.
"Hannah, stop walking so fast!" She said.
She was carrying a lot more books than I was. I sighed and turned around.
"Sorry." I mumbled to her, taking some of her books into my hands to help her out and make it easier for her.
Harry and Ron caught up with us finally, puffing. We were the first ones at our next class. It was fine, and I completely ignored Malfoy through the whole thing. And also for the rest of the day, I pretended that he didn't exist, and when he tried to talk to me, I either ran away or started laughing and talking with Hermione, Harry, Ron and Ginny or someone that was standing near me who was also my friend.
At lunch, I was really fed up with all the running away. I was sitting under the same tree that Hermione and Ginny had sat under with me before the Yule Ball. I felt someone tap my shoulder. I spun around and saw Hermione and Harry standing together smiling down at me.
"Hey guys." I smiled back up at them.
They sat down with me and we spent the rest of lunch together, and after that, we caught up with Ron for our last classes, and caught up with Ginny later at the common room.
