Awkward Moment

That night, after we finished our delicious dinner, we all packed up our plates and cutlery and left it on the tables neatly. Hermione, Ginny and I walked back to the front of the teachers' table to say hello to Hagrid. Harry and Ron were already there.

"Hey, Hagrid!" I smiled happily, giving my favourite teacher a hug.

"Hey, y'all!" Hagrid replied gleefully, hugging me back.

He was so tall, he would have had to bend down all the way to hug me properly or be my height. We all talked for a while, laughing and enjoying everything. Then I noticed Cedric. It was the first time I'd seen him since the first task, and I really wanted to talk to him, so I told Hagrid and all my friends that I'm going to say hi to Cedric and walked down the corridor.

I passed Neville and Luna and said hello to them cheerfully. Then I came to Cedric. He was looking away when I tapped him on the back. He spun around and smiled widely.

"Hello!" I said excitedly as he picked me up in a tight warm hug. 

He put me down again.

"You were absolutely amazing that day!" I said to him happily.

"Thanks." Cedric smiled back kindly. "To be honest, it was really scary but I got over it when I picked up that egg."

I giggled back.

"It's so great to know you're fine." I sighed back.

I talked with Cedric a little more, then Cedric said

"I've got to go back now, but thanks." He smiled, giving me a hug again. 

I smiled back, saying goodbye. I walked forward and bumped into somebody. Their wand flew up into the air and I caught it just in time before it fell to the ground. 

"I'm really sorry!" I said, handing it to the person, and instantly realized it was Draco. 

Suddenly, I didn't feel as sorry as I did. I just felt a little...awkward. I nearly took back my sorry. I didn't want to be defeated by Draco's comebacks. But he just cleared his throat.

"Um," He said, "Thanks, Hannah." 

When he said my name, my heart fluttered. What? I tried to resist this weird feeling.

"It's OK." I replied quickly. "Thanks for sticking up for me in detention." I blurted out, not really knowing what to say.

Draco looked up at me.

"Oh, um, it's OK." He replied, smiling back at me. 

His smiled made my heart skip a beat. Oh man!

"It's Blaise, you know." Draco said, shrugging a bit. "He can be a bit..." He trailed off.

"Out of control?" I ended for him, not really thinking. 

Then I looked at him to see if he would say anything else.

"Yeah, I guess." Draco laughed a little nervously. 

He cleared his throat for the second time and looked at the floor again. 

"Well," He said, looking up at me. "Bye."

"See ya round, Draco." I replied, smiling at him. 

He smiled at me, and we both made our ways back to our tables. I met up with Hermione and Ginny who were raising their eyebrows and looking at me for an explanation. I instantly felt really nervous. What just happened back there? I smiled at them awkwardly. Just then, Fred and George came along with huge grins on their faces.. 

"Guess what? We just gave Blaise Zabini some Puking Pastilles!" Fred laughed, making everyone crack up.

"You should've seen his face!" George added in, still laughing. 

"Zonko's is awesome!" They both said at the same time. 

"Hey, good job, guys, thanks so much!" I said, giving them both a hug. "That's totally awesome!" 

I couldn't help but smile as I watched my favourite twins happily.

"Yeah, we heard about your fight with Zabini, so we decided that he should get payback." George shrugged casually. 

"Think we did a decent job?" Fred added in with a hopeful grin.

"I know I should've gone to you two when I had my fight with Zabini in the first place!" I giggled, making them laugh again.

They decided that they'd go and pull more pranks on Slytherins so I sat goodnight to them. Ginny and Hermione were still laughing at Fred and George's little pranks. I sigehd from all the laughter, turning to Ginny.

"It must be cool to have them as your brothers." I said to her.

"Sometimes." Ginny mumbled back, a half-smile crossing her face.

Then she and Hermione turned back to me.

"You have a LOT of explaining to do." They said, and we all went to the corridor.

We met up with Harry and Ron along the way, who asked us if Fred and George had told us about their prank. That made us all crack up laughing again, but we said that they told us. We all headed back to the Gryffindor common room together, talked happily for a while, and then Harry and Rn decided to go to bed. Hermione and Ginny stayed back as I told them my awkward story of me and Draco Malfoy.

"I don't like him, and I'm not attracted to him in any way. So don't even think about it!" I said before they could say anything.

We laughed and decided to go to bed.
