Everyone sat in the hall for breakfast, eating their food. I sat with Hermione beside me and Ron and Harry sitting opposite us. Suddenly, a third year Gryffindor named Colin came up to us with a huge parcel.
"Parcel for you, Mr Weasley." He said, handing it to Ron.
"Thanks Colin." Ron replied, putting it on the table but Colin didn't leave.
He was staring at Harry. Then I caught his eye and he started staring at me too.
"Go!" Ron urged him, and Colin left.
Ron turned to us three.
"I told him I'd get him Harry's autograph."
"So why did he stare at me?" I asked Ron.
"He's got a crush on you." Ron replied, smirking.
I rolled my eyes and went back to eating my breakfast. Ron opened his present and pulled out the ugliest piece of clothing I had ever seen in my entire life. It was so disgusting, I choked on my orange juice.
"Mum's sent me a dress!" Ron said in horror, staring at the robes and glancing at me to see if I was OK with my orange juice.
"Well it does match my eyes." Harry said casually. "Is there a bonnet?"
He reached into the box and pulled out a white bonnet.
"Aha!" He said triumphantly.
"Put that down, Harry!" Ron said, annoyed.
He walked up to Ginny further down the Gryffindor table and held up the robes.
"Ginny, these must be for you."
"I'm not wearing that it's ghastly!" Ginny said, looking as disgusted as I felt.
Hermione suddenly cracked up laughing beside me.
"What's up with you?" Ron asked, coming back to us, still holding those ugly, weird looking robes in his hands.
"They're not for Ginny." Hermione said. "They're for you!"
Everyone cracked up laughing!
"Dress robes!" Hermione finished.
"Dress robes? For what?" Ron asked in shock.
Later that day, everyone was called to Professor McGonagall's room and boys sat on one side, girls sat on the other.
"The Yule Ball," McGonagall said "Is first and foremost, a dance."
The girls were all crazy and happy, talking excitedly, and the boys were just groaning, looking really annoyed. Hermione and I were really excited. Later that day at Potions lesson, everyone sat in their long tables. I sat next to Hermione, and Ron and Harry sat next to us.
"I bet Neville's got nobody for the ball." Ron said, laughing a bit, looking around the classroom freely.
Snape came along and pushed ron's head back into his work.
"For your information, Neville's already got a date to the ball." Hermione replied quietly.
"Oh, now I'm really depressed!" Ron said, staring in his book.
Fred passed him a note, and Ron stared at it for a while.
"Who are you going with then?" He whispered to Fred.
Fred winked and threw a scrunched up piece of paper at Angelina Johnson.
"Angelina!" He whispered. "Do you want to go to the ball with me?" He asked quietly, doing some actions with it.
