- Hey, bro. So where'd you disappear to? I called you like five times. How was last night? - Liam slaps me on the back, his smile spreading from ear to ear.
- Piss off, eh,-I don't really feel like talking about last night. - I lost my phone last night. Probably in a bar or in a taxi or at her place. I don't know. I didn't find it this morning.
My head's still buzzing, I'm on edge. I don't know what this girl got me all worked up about. And there's no phone. Not the best way to start the day.
- Her? So you weren't hanging around that girl last night for nothing, huh? You look like she were you down pretty good, - Liam's not hiding his amusement anymore. If he starts messing with someone, it can go on for hours.
- Yeah, it looks like I've worn myself out, even on the way. I don't remember anything at all,- I admit. - Let's go to the bar and find out about my phone. Sophie probably already called me. By the way, what time's the game tonight? And what did you decide about the evening? I don't see our chat room, so I don't know what's going on since last night.
- Wait,- Liam drops his eyes to his mobile phone, reads the message and smiles wryly, "Looks like I've got your girlfriend's number now. She texted that she found your missing piece and is ready to return it tonight.
Without waiting for my reply, Liam types her a message and sends it quickly. The smug grin never leaves his face.
- What did you text her? - I resent that.
- Nothing, I texted her the address of the bar where we'd be tonight and invited her to spend the evening with the cool guys. You don't have to thank me,- Liam laughs.
- Asshole,- I tried to hide my excitement. I don't know why I can't get this girl out of my head. What is it about her that makes me keep bringing up this morning's events. - Ask her where she is. I'll go get my phone. It's a stupid waste of time when you can pick it up now. I think I know where she is, though. If she's at the Potter Museum, I'll have to wait till tonight. By the way, can you give me a ride to my car?
Liam's smile grows even wider as he sends her what I ask. "I'm at King's Cross station," she writes.
- Tell her I'm on my way, I'll be there in about 40-45 minutes, tell her to wait for me at platform 9 ¾, I'll be sure to find her there in no time.
And we drive to the bar where my car is parked overnight. On the way, Liam fill me in on all the details of our chat that I missed. You know, me and the lads started our own chat room, at first just to make it easier to get together for football. But then it was full of memes, jokes, discussions about parties and girls. Alex, of course, had already been discussed, and only because I had stayed with her when they left the bar. The guys liked her, except for Tyler. Tyler went back into detective mode and was about to find out what she wanted from me.
