December 16.

It's a disgusting night. I toss and turn in my sleep and can't seem to lie down comfortably.

- Are you okay? - Says a sleepy Daniel, - Come here.

His strong arms hold me tightly to his chest, and my thoughts slow down. I'm home, where I feel good, where I'm loved. I don't want to leave. My eyes begin to fall asleep, and I fall asleep, smiling at what I have...

- Baby, please put your phone down, - Daniel groans when congratulatory messages start arriving at 5 a.m. Who cares about time zones, anyway? I turn on the "do not disturb" mode and hurry back to the hot embrace.

- Happy birthday, sweetheart... grrr, - Dany sniffles in my ear. I smile. This is more than a good way to start the day.

- Good morning, - he says, a few hours later, when his alarm pulls us out of our slumber. I reluctantly open my eyes.

His beautiful green eyes regard me, a smile playing on his face.

- What? - I smile back.

- I love you. I can't believe you're mine, Alex, - he says.

- Oh, come on, - I roll my eyes dramatically, - like I had a choice.

- Happy birthday, beautiful, - he says, kissing my shoulder. - I know how you "don't celebrate", so don't make any plans for tonight, okay? I'm asking you out on a date. No birthdays, just a date. I promise.

He smiles conspiratorially.

- What are you up to, huh? - I'm torn by curiosity. Daniel shrugs and climbs out of bed. I stare at his naked body and disconnect from reality. How many beautiful moments it has given me and will give me more.

- Aren't you going to be late? - Dany asks, - Come with me to the shower, we'll save time.

- Are you sure a shower together will save time? - I grin.

- If you think for a long time, you will definitely miss everything, let's go.

I reluctantly get out from under the covers and go to the bathroom. Dany is already under the running water, and he can't take his eyes off me. The water slides over his skin, leaving wet traces. It outlines every curve of his body. It's a picture I'll literally never get tired of.

- Alex, stop staring at me, - he snorts, - Come here. - He pulls me by the arm and pulls me close to him. - They say it's a great sign to fuck the birthday girl on her birthday.

Daniel raises an eyebrow and laughs loudly, pleased with his vulgar joke.

- I don't believe in signs, but I'm ready to become superstitious for a couple of minutes - I reply, teasing.

- A few minutes, you say? - He didn't let up, pushing me against the wall. Daniel's turned on, and how, - Who do you think I am? - His lips presses against my neck.

- I... really... suck... at... knowing... time, - I answer and press my lips against his plump ones. - It's the perfect way to start the day.

- I have to go meet Soph, and I'll pick you up tonight, - Daniel says as we get out of the shower. - Are you sure you have to go to work? Maybe don't? I'm perfectly capable of supporting our family.

- Family? Are you still in a hurry? First of all, I like working. I love creating large-scale projects, I love this whole atmosphere of behind-the-scenes work and endless creativity. So no, I'm not going to sit at home. Ever.

- Accepted, and secondly? - He asks.

- And secondly, I told you, everything is gradual. Yes? It's not like I'm going anywhere.
