Jeongin avoided Chan ever since their last conversation. He understood that Chan liked someone in Australia that he wouldn't have wanted to leave but it kinda hurt when he said that he wished he had never left.

He was used to coming back to a bunch of hugs and excited questions about what he did over the summer and comments about how much he missed him. He was well aware that he changed quite a bit over the summer but he didn't exactly like how it seemed to make Chan change how he acted around him as well.

Chan hadn't really tried to talk to him either though he was beginning to wonder why Jeongin always stayed in his room now or why he was going random places for hours at a time.

He had no idea why Jeongin was suddenly being so distant since he didn't think about what he was saying when he said it.

School had started which made it a lot easier for Jeongin to avoid Chan. He simply made Jisung help him find all of his classes or asked some random person if Jisung wasn't nearby.

Things went like this for a few weeks and Chan was slowly beginning to get extremely tired of it.

It was Friday night and Jeongin came home around 1 am. Chan heard the door to their dorm click closed as the younger walked into his room.

Chan tried to turn around and fall asleep but he couldn't stop thinking about him. He wanted to know why he was suddenly being so distant.

He eventually decided to get up and walked into the younger's room without even knocking.

He immediately frowned when he saw the boy sitting against his window with a cigarette in between his lips.

Jeongin simply slammed his head against the wall behind him as he let out a sigh.

"I know you won't believe me but I swear this is the first one I've had since I promised to stop."

"Then why are you smoking again now?" He questioned as he walked over and sat beside him.

"No reason. Why are you in here?"

"Am I not allowed to hang out with my best friend?"

"Wouldn't you rather go call your friend that you're in love with from Australia?"

"No, I'd rather hang out with you at the moment."

"Did he get a boyfriend since you've been back?"

"Sort of," Chan replied, looking up at him although he was really referring to Jeongin having Jisung.

"That sucks."

"Yeah...it does but why are you smoking?"

"Jisung has a crush on someone."

"Why is that a bad thing? You guys were only doing whatever you're doing until you find someone that you actually have feelings for anyway."

"Yeah but I guess I miss the relationship-type stuff. Now everything is about his new crush and he doesn't even talk to me."

"I'm sure it won't be difficult for you to find another person to be friends with benefits with."
